This service was able to provide that care with people who knew exactly what to do and they provided the best care I could ever wish for. I highly recommend them! They have been like family through our ordeal!!
Thanks so much Jamie and Blanche for all you have done for our family to provide wonderful care givers!!!

Today we would like to recognize a #GoodSeniorCitizen in our community, Celeste Graves.

Celeste recently turned 102 on August 15 and resides in Magnolia, TX. Celeste was a dispatcher for the 319th Army Air Force Women's Flying Training Detachment (AAFWFTD). The goal of the AAFWFTD was to train women to ferry military aircraft around as needed freeing up male recruits for combat. In 1943 the AAFWFTD program would be joined with other programs to become the WASPs; the Women's Airforce Service Pilots.

In her book, “A View from the Doghouse of the 319th AAFWFTD” (available on Amazon) Celeste details her experiences with the program and its members. This year on Memorial Day she spoke to an audience at the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park in a dedication which observed the “Remembered Whispers” monument honoring the women of the 319th WASP’s aviators that flew in WWII.

A quote from the event on Memorial Day from Graves, “They had to have 200 hours of flying time. They paid all their expenses. You don’t hear that, but I want you to hear that,” Graves said. "The first three classes and half of the fourth class were trained in Houston."
