Simply put, acts of kindness demonstrate to people that they matter. The concept of “mattering” has made headlines recently, with the publication of a new book, "Mattering: The Secret to a Life of Deep Connection and Purpose."
The conversation came to Columbus when author Jennifer Wallace was interviewed on WOSU Public Media's All Sides with Amy Juravich where she discussed the mattering crisis and what it means for our community.

After experiencing loss, loneliness, and vision changes, Laurel made the decision to step back into community—where she met Susan. What began as a simple connection has grown into a friendship rooted in support, laughter, and showing up for one another through life’s challenges.
Together, they’re a reminder that kindness and connection can help light the way forward.
Through friendship, 2 women take on life‑altering challenges Laurel Ridenbaugh lost her vision, job and friends. A new friendship helped her find purpose and aim for the Paralympics.

Home for Families is now providing free, on-site mental health support to those experiencing housing instability through a new partnership with Hidden Roots Mental Health LLC. With a licensed social worker embedded in their Columbus office, this effort is helping address trauma, reduce barriers to care, and support families on their path to stability. 💛

During a rare Level 3 snow emergency in Franklin County, LifeCare Alliance continued delivering meals across central Ohio. From Blizzard Boxes to volunteers clearing walkways, their volunteers and employees helped keep neighbors safe and nourished through Winter Storm Fern. ❄️💙
