As the Juneteenth flag was raised at the Statehouse this morning in Columbus, we wanted to share some facts and celebrations happening in Columbus tomorrow and this weekend (last slide)!
Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, history, and culture. June 19th, 1865 is the day in which enslaved African Americans in Galveston, TX found out about their freedom; 2 years after the emancipation proclamation. However, it’s important to note that slavery in the U.S. did not end there. Swipe for some examples. ➡️

RAPID RESPONSE 5/16!! Come out to the Statehouse at 2pm for a rally in response to the recent Callais Supreme Court ruling. Hosted by the People’s Justice Project, we need all hands on deck!
From the People’s Justice Project:
We need ALL HANDS ON DECK!! This is a critical moment for us to show up, stand together, and demonstrate the power of collective action. We need strong representation on the ground as communities continue organizing attacks on our democracy, our rights, and most importantly, our people.

Ohioans know all too well the rise in costs we are currently seeing. This infographic really puts it into perspective.
It’s also extremely important to acknowledge the people who are most greatly affected by these numbers; the working class, marginalized communities, and the BIPOC community.
We must focus on giving back and volunteering with mutual aid groups in this moment, and also not forget the work we have to do heading toward November midterms.

OHIO! Vote today, 5/5/26, until 7:30pm at your polling location. Find your polling location by going to vote.org! If you’re still in line by 7:30pm, STAY in line!
On this page we have not shared as much as what we could have been doing this primary season. But also, we believe it is in the voter’s best interest to do your own research into candidates. Thus, why we will not endorse anyone nor post or collaborate on content that favors one candidate over the next.
With that said, we HIGHLY encourage everyone in Columbus to vote YES on Issue 5 which would help reform emergency response in Columbus and send professionals, rather than police to situations like mental health crises.
