Happy are the painters for they shall not be lonely. Light and colour, peace and hope will keep them company until the end of the day." Winston Churchill

We also added trim to the mudroom area right next to the kitchen and painted and glazed it the same way as the kitchen ceiling.

Another small project completed for my Washington CH client were these frames showcasing her teen kiddos. Repainted them in black and added some antique gold foil in a band. In the new color they fit much better into the foyer.
The upstairs hallway got the same antique glaze finish as the downstairs foyer, dining room and living room. It creates a beautiful continuous feel throughout the home. It’s really so wonderful to see all these spaces ten years later and they are still as beautiful as the day I finished them.

While working on the foyer walls my client also asked me to paint the front door black and refinish a little antique cabinet for her. I painted the shelf black, added some antique gold accents and stencils and finished with a durable topcoat.

The little oak powder room vanity als needed a little facelift. I created a fresco finish on the fronts and all was framed by a dark black base. My client’s existing mirror heavily influenced the cabinet finish. I believe this one was also created in 2015… stood the test of time.

Next up were the kitchen cabinets. I believe I worked on these in 2015 for my client. We opted for a tawny tone with a can stow brown over glaze to harmonize with a wallpaper border and fabrics in the adjacent family room. My client loves darker and moody spaces. So these were and are just perfect for her. I don’t work on full scale cabinetry anymore but it is fun to remember.
The final project in the sunroom came a few years later. When my client added a new ceiling fan, a small update to the fan was necessary. She loved the bronze metal of the fan but the finish on the blades just didn’t compliment the wood tones in the sunroom. The blades were a flat reddish dark cherry tone. We wanted a finish and tone that would bring in the wicker furniture and pop a bit more against the faux finished ceiling. I once again similar to the ceiling created textural grain and then glazed it in this softer color. A little detailing brought out the grain.
The second area in the sunroom that we tackled years ago was the accent wall. We wanted to tie it to the beautiful yard outside of the sunroom and so we chose to paint the wall a soft green and added an antiquing glaze as well as stenciled Italian flower names randomly across the wall.
