This week, we are happy to feature !

Located on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights, Marchant Manor Cheese was founded by Dr. Kandice Marchant, affectionately called the “Cheese Doctor.” Before starting Marchant Manor in 2018, she worked at the Cleveland Clinic for 36 years as the Institute Chair of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and Medical Director of the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Laboratory. Inspired by European cheese boards enjoyed during travels with her late husband, Roger, Kandice fell in love with soft, bloomy, and washed-rind styles and set out to master them herself.

Marchant Manor in turn specializes in triple-cream and European-style cheeses, many made with Guernsey milk. Their signature varieties including Elmstead Ash, Henley, Lapworth, and Beachy Head Goat are each named for places in England as a tribute to Roger’s heritage. Marchant Manor also hosts cheesemaking classes and tastings, offers a cheese club membership, and holds a variety of community events.

You can visit Marchant Manor Cheese at 2211 Lee Rd, Cleveland Heights, or visit their website at https://www.marchantmanor.com. We are proud to have Marchant Manor Cheese as a member of the Ohio Cheese Guild! 🧀

This week, we are excited to feature Blue Jacket Dairy!

Located in Bellefontaine, Ohio, Blue Jacket Dairy was started in 2008 by founders Jim and Angel King. They began with the goal of making locally sourced, great tasting cheese with hand-made methods. Blue Jacket handcrafts a variety of aged cheese, a halloumi style cheese called Gretna Grillin, goat chevre, cheese curds and more.

When asked about the best part of cheesemaking, the Kings said, “Interacting with our customers is meaningful to us, and we are still passionate about making delicious cheese after 18 years.”

You can find their cheese online at https://www.bluejacketdairy.com/category/all-products, specialty stores in central Ohio, various restaurants in Dayton and Columbus, and at their store in Bellefontaine. We appreciate having them as members! 🧀
