Today officially marks my 38th chapter.

My connection with God is better than it’s ever been. My health and fitness is better than it’s ever been. My love, appreciation, and connections with my loved ones are better than it’s ever been. My finances are better than they’ve ever been. All of that, in that order.

Even so, my life and I are far from perfect; however, I’m beyond grateful for it all.

I know there’s a ton of pressure (especially on the younger generations) that right now is your prime and you have to have everything perfect and all figured out at this very moment.

That… is bullshxt and please don’t get it twisted. No one's life is perfect, and we're all a constant work in progress.

The prime of your life is determined by the compound effect of the daily decisions you make, work you put in, and above all, God’s grace.

Keep going and never forget that.

Big ups to everyone who’s already shown love and those that will in whatever way you do. More life to all, especially my fellow Cancers.

And more life means you’re blessed with more time to get it right.

I’ve been waiting awhile to talk about this publicly struggling to find the words & the reason why something like this could happen to someone like you.

Today marks your 22nd birthday & since your passing not a day has gone by where you haven’t been on our minds & on our hearts.

Cam’s smile, presence, jokes & especially his laugh would literally brighten up your day no matter how dark it might’ve been.

In his time on this earth he showed us a lot of things.

He showed us how to be a pure & loving soul, how to be a selfless & standup individual, how to be a protector & be there for your family during their time of need.

Another thing that my nephew showed us was how to have fun & how to stay forever young.

I’ll never forget one day we were walking into the mall and I was telling him about one of my latest adventures, filled with excitement, plot twists & was hinted with just the right amount of danger just to make things interesting… & at the end of my story, he looks me right in my eyes, right before he delivers that signature laugh & says, “You cappin’ so hard right now” 😂

Now… I had no idea what this word meant & I wasn’t about to embarrass myself by asking so I did what any of you would’ve done… I went to the good ole trusty Urban Dictionary & found out that “cappin” is a cool way of saying “you’re lying” 😂

Cam… there’s so many things we miss about you.

I miss you saying “Unc… lemme get that chain” every time we would see each other because everybody knows Cam loved a gold chain 😂

Most of all… we all… simply miss you.

I’m a firm believer that true love shines through the darkest part of our lives.

Though we all may weep at the fact that you’re no longer here with us in the physical we can find comfort in knowing that your spirit can and will never die, that you will always be with us, and that you are in the best place we could all possibly ask for, in God’s care.

I love you and today we’re gonna turn up in your honor.

Today is officially my birthday and I’ve learned a lot over these last 35 years but one thing has become abundantly clear. I have to stop treating life like it’s always gonna be there because one day… it won’t. ⁠⁠⁠

Life is now and until that day comes best believe I’m making the rest of whatever I’m blessed to have on this earth unforgettable. The love has been tremendously felt over the last few days leading up to now and I really just wanna thank y’all from the bottom of my heart for making this birthday a very memorable one for me.⁠⁠⁠

Have you y’all ever driven past a new building being constructed & for so long it looks like nothing is going on at all? It’s like literally for an eternity you’ve been driving by & it feels like they’ve been working on the same thing over & over & over again for months on end to the point where you’re like is this building ever gonna be finished??? ⁠

Then one day you’re driving by & you start to see the framing going up & the building finally begins to take shape. Then what feels like in a blink of an eye the entire building is up, done, people are moving in & you can’t believe how fast they completed everything!⁠

That’s because for so long the foundation was being laid. ⁠

The foundation is the part that nobody sees. ⁠

The foundation is the part that most people don’t care about. ⁠

The foundation is the part that takes the longest to construct, to get right & also takes the longest because it has to settle in. ⁠

It’s the part that nobody ever talks about, it’s not sexy, & often times it’s overlooked but let me tell you a few things that a foundation does. ⁠
