Empowered by the Spirit, Bearing the Cross, Healing the Broken

There are moments in life when hope seems completely gone.

The doctors have said all they can say. The family has cried all the tears they can cry. The plans have been made. The goodbyes have already begun.

For one family, that moment came when 69-year-old Bettina Lerman spent weeks on a ventilator battling COVID-19.

Her condition was so severe that loved ones believed the end was near.

They purchased a tombstone.

They met with a funeral home.

They began planning her funeral.

They even gave away her belongings and cleared out her apartment so others in need could benefit from what she left behind.

In their minds, they were preparing for the inevitable.

But God had another chapter to write.

On October 29, just before doctors planned to remove Lerman from life support, something extraordinary happened at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.

She woke up.

Imagine receiving that phone call.

Her son, Andrew, expected devastating news when a doctor urgently asked him to come to the hospital.

Instead, he heard words he never imagined.

"Your mother woke up."

After more than a month in a coma, the woman everyone expected to lose suddenly opened her eyes.

The family was stunned.

Medical professionals could not fully explain it.

And for Andrew, the experience forced him to think beyond what he could see.

His mother had always been a woman of deep faith. Friends, family members, and church members had spent weeks praying for her.

"So they can't explain it on the medical side. Maybe it's on the religious side," Andrew said. "I'm not that religious, but I'm starting to believe that there's something that helped her."

Then he added four simple words that captured what so many were thinking:

"She's a miracle."

Her daughter, Jennifer, described Bettina as a "prayer warrior," a woman whose faith had been evident long before this crisis ever began.

Today, Bettina continues recovering. She is breathing on her own with supplemental oxygen and undergoing physical therapy to rebuild her strength.

Her journey is not finished. Recovery still takes time.

But the woman whose family had already planned her funeral is alive.

Stories like this remind us of something we often forget when circumstances look impossible: our timeline is not God's timeline.

Sometimes the miracle is immediate.

Sometimes it arrives after weeks of waiting.

And sometimes it shows up when everyone else has already given up hope.

Whether you see this story as a medical marvel, an answer to prayer, or both, it carries a powerful reminder: never underestimate what can happen when faith endures through the darkest moments.

Because as long as God is writing the story, the final chapter has not yet been written.

If this testimony encouraged you, share it with someone who needs hope today.

They call the Gospels "legend" but Luke's opening line destroys that argument completely.

Luke says he CAREFULLY INVESTIGATED everything from eyewitnesses so readers could be certain. John anchors his account in what he personally saw and touched. This isn't folklore, it's first-century testimony from people who staked their lives on it. Reading the Gospels with confidence changes everything.

Has doubting the reliability of the Gospels ever shaken your faith? What helped you work through it, drop it below.

Success is often measured by promotions, ratings, applause, and achievements. But what happens when God asks you to step away from everything the world says you should hold onto?

Former ABC News journalist Paula Faris knows that question firsthand.

For years, Faris was a familiar face on national television, serving as a co-host on "The View" and anchoring "Good Morning America Weekend." From the outside, it looked like she had reached the pinnacle of success. Yet behind the scenes, she sensed God was calling her toward something different.

Instead of chasing the next career milestone, Faris began asking a deeper question: What is my true purpose?

Her answer was remarkably simple.

"My purpose is to love God, love people, and shine my light."

Those words echo Jesus' teaching in Matthew 22, where He described the greatest commandments: love God and love your neighbor. For Faris, those verses became more than inspiration. They became a mission statement.

Today, she is the founder of CARRY Media, a platform focused on amplifying the stories of working mothers, and host of the "Faith & Calling" podcast, where she explores purpose, faith, and calling with influential leaders.

But her transition was not easy.

Faris admits she wrestled with God when the path ahead became unclear. She questioned why she would feel called into a successful career only to feel led away from it. Like many of us, she had believed the lie that her identity was tied to a specific role, title, or accomplishment.

"I was very angry," she recalled. "Why, God, did You call me to do this?"

The breakthrough came when she realized God had never called her to a position. He had called her to Himself.

After stepping away from television and relocating with her family from New York City to South Carolina, Faris discovered a healthier rhythm of life. Family became the priority. Faith became the foundation. Work became something that fit around those values rather than replacing them.

Her story is a powerful reminder that purpose is not found in fame, status, or professional success. Purpose is found in faithful obedience, wherever God leads.

Sometimes the bravest thing a person can do is not climb higher. Sometimes it is trusting God enough to step into the unknown.

And perhaps someone reading this today needs that reminder.

You are more than your job title. More than your achievements. More than the expectations others place on you.

Your worth is not determined by what you accomplish. It is anchored in who God says you are.

If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who may be wrestling with a difficult decision or searching for purpose in a season of change.

One ordinary afternoon turned into a nightmare no family ever expects.

On February 12, 2018, Brian Hines watched in horror as his wife, Tina, suddenly collapsed. Within moments, she was unresponsive, not breathing, and showing no signs of life.

As frantic calls to 911 were made, Brian and a neighbor desperately performed CPR while waiting for first responders. Paramedics arrived, administered emergency medications, and repeatedly shocked Tina's heart in an effort to revive her.

Still, there was no response.

By the time she reached the hospital, Tina had reportedly gone more than 20 minutes with little or no oxygen. The outlook was grim. Doctors warned her family that even if she survived, severe brain damage was likely.

The waiting room filled with family and friends praying through tears.

Brian remembers offering a desperate prayer: "God, take everything from my life if You'll give me back Tina."

Then something unexpected happened.

After another attempt to restart her heart in the emergency room, Tina came back.

Alive.

Doctors placed her in a medically induced coma while they monitored her condition. The next day, as loved ones gathered around her hospital bed, they waited anxiously to see if she would wake up and whether her mind had survived the ordeal.

When Tina finally regained consciousness, she couldn't speak because of the breathing tube. So a notebook and pen were placed in her hands.

What she slowly wrote stunned everyone in the room:

"I-T-S-R-E-A-L."

At first, no one understood.

Was she talking about the pain? The hospital? The accident?

Then someone asked a different question.

"Heaven?"

Tina nodded yes.

According to her account, while doctors fought to save her life, she experienced something she says was beyond words. She described seeing Jesus face to face, standing with His arms open wide. Behind Him was a brilliant light unlike anything she had ever seen.

"The unbelievable rest and peacefulness of what I was experiencing was Jesus standing there," Tina later recalled.

What happened next was just as remarkable.

Despite a cracked sternum, broken ribs, and the trauma of cardiac arrest, Tina was discharged from the hospital only four days later. Even more surprising, she reportedly showed no signs of brain impairment.

Today, she enjoys an active life and has even trained for long-distance races.

Her story continues to inspire people because it points to something many quietly wonder about: Is there more beyond this life?

Whether someone sees her experience as a miracle, a near-death experience, or a testimony of faith, Tina's message has never changed.

"God is real in my life. Jesus is real. Heaven is real."

In a world filled with uncertainty, her story is a powerful reminder that hope can appear in the darkest moments, and that sometimes the message people bring back is simple:

There is more to the story than what we can see.

If this testimony encouraged you, share it with someone who needs hope today.

What if the greatest thing you could hear in the middle of your struggle is this: *what you're facing today is not the end of your story*?

That is the message Christian artist Tauren Wells is passionately sharing with believers around the world.

Known for his powerful worship songs and heartfelt faith, Wells says his mission is simple: to help people lift their eyes beyond today's pain and remember the hope of eternity.

Speaking about his album *Joy in the Morning*, Wells explained that he wants his music to remind listeners that "there's a forever morning coming." In a culture consumed by the urgent, the immediate, and the temporary, he believes Christians need a fresh vision of heaven and God's promises.

"We need to be reminded that now is not forever," Wells said. "There is a reality beyond the reality that we live in every day."

It is a message rooted in Scripture and in his own life story.

Wells grew up in a home marked by change after his parents divorced when he was young. But everything began to shift when he attended Sunday school for the first time at age nine.

"I just fell in love with it," he recalled. "I fell in love with the people and started to learn more and more about Jesus."

That simple encounter became the foundation for a faith that would later sustain him through the pressures of public life.

Today, Wells stands on stages before thousands, but he is candid about the challenges that come with success. He believes fame can never replace the inner work God wants to do in a person's heart.

"All elevation comes with pressure," he explained. And without a life anchored in Christ, those pressures can become overwhelming.

His perspective is especially refreshing in a world where public figures are often expected to comment on every controversy. Wells believes wisdom sometimes means speaking less and listening more.

"Our words carry a lot of weight," he said. Before speaking on complex issues, he believes people should pursue understanding, humility, and truth.

Perhaps that's why his message resonates with so many. It is not built on outrage, headlines, or personal ambition. It is built on hope.

A hope that says your pain is not permanent.

A hope that says your current chapter is not the final page.

A hope that points beyond today's struggles to the faithfulness of God.

Maybe someone reading this needs that reminder today: weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning.

And sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is lift our eyes toward heaven and remember that God is still writing the story.

If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who needs hope today.

The United States Men's National Team is making headlines at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but for many fans, it is not just the goals, assists, and victories that stand out.

It is what happened after the final whistle.

Following Team USA's impressive 4-1 victory over Paraguay, players gathered together on the field, led by defender Mark McKenzie, to pray and give thanks to God. In a tournament watched by millions around the world, these athletes chose to publicly acknowledge a higher purpose beyond the game itself.

And for many of these players, that moment was not unusual. It was simply an extension of how they live every day.

Star winger Christian Pulisic has long been open about the role faith plays in his life. In his documentary series PULISIC, he discusses regular Bible studies with teammates, affectionately calling the gatherings "Bible Time." He has also frequently shared Scripture and messages of faith on social media.

Years ago, after a major match, Pulisic explained where he finds his strength.

"I reach out to God, and He gives me strength."

That same faith appears to run deep throughout much of the current U.S. squad.

Goalkeeper Matt Freese recently spoke about seeing soccer as an opportunity entrusted to him by God.

"God's given me so many opportunities within this game and within my career," he said, emphasizing the importance of faithfully stewarding those opportunities.

Midfielder Weston McKennie boldly declares "All glory to God" in his social media profile. Defender Chris Richards has also been involved in leading Bible studies during his professional career.

Taken together, these stories reveal something refreshing in an era often dominated by self-promotion and personal branding.

These athletes are using their platform to point beyond themselves.

Of course, faith and sports have long shared a unique connection. Pressure exposes what we truly trust. Victory tests our humility. Defeat reveals our character.

That may be why moments like these resonate so deeply.

When cameras are rolling and the world is watching, many people instinctively focus on their own accomplishments. Yet these players continue directing attention elsewhere.

Their example serves as a reminder that success can be celebrated without becoming an idol. Talent can be embraced without becoming an identity. And influence can be used to inspire something greater than ourselves.

Former professional player Jesse Bradley recently highlighted how the team's faith has inspired outreach efforts through World Cup watch parties, creating opportunities for fellowship, community, and Gospel conversations.

It is a simple but powerful reminder that influence multiplies when it is shared.

Whether you're a lifelong soccer fan or someone who only tunes in during the World Cup, there is something encouraging about watching athletes compete with excellence while remaining grounded in their faith.

What would make a man voluntarily walk into a police station and confess to a crime that had remained unsolved for years?

For one Mississippi man, the answer was simple, yet profound: he could no longer live with the secret.

In a story that has captured attention across the country, 37-year-old James Eric Crisp reportedly walked into the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and confessed to killing Roger Loyd Taylor, whose death in March 2019 had remained an unresolved cold case.

According to Monroe County Sheriff Kevin Crook, a law enforcement veteran of more than two decades, it was unlike anything he had ever witnessed.

"James Eric Crisp walked into my office, of his own free will, and confessed," Crook told local media.

But the story becomes even more remarkable.

At the time of Taylor's death, Crisp was reportedly battling drug addiction and living a very different life. In the years that followed, however, he says he experienced a dramatic transformation. After entering recovery, he became a Christian and eventually began teaching and preaching at God’s House of Hope, a ministry that helps people overcome addiction and life-controlling struggles.

Yet despite his new life, one burden remained.

According to statements from authorities, Crisp ultimately chose to risk his physical freedom in pursuit of what he believed was spiritual freedom.

"He made the decision to risk his physical freedom in order to regain his spiritual freedom," the sheriff's office said, noting that his confession was also intended to help bring closure to the victim's family.

That statement stops you in your tracks.

In a culture where people often work tirelessly to hide mistakes, protect reputations, or avoid consequences, this story presents a different picture. It is a reminder that genuine repentance is not merely feeling sorry. It often requires truth, accountability, and the courage to face the consequences of past actions.

Amy Coyle of God’s House of Hope reflected on that tension during a court hearing.

"We know that God is a just God. He forgives," she said. "But we also have to take action for our responsibilities."

That truth sits at the heart of the Christian message. Forgiveness does not erase accountability. Grace does not eliminate responsibility. Instead, real transformation often produces a willingness to step into the light, even when it comes at great personal cost.

Authorities continue to investigate the case and determine whether additional charges or suspects may be involved. Crisp has been charged with manslaughter and is being held on a $150,000 bond.

No matter how the legal process unfolds, this story raises an important question for all of us:

What burdens are we carrying that truth was never meant to hide?

The Gospel teaches that freedom is found not in covering our failures, but in bringing them into the light. Sometimes the hardest step a person can take is also the first step toward healing.

Please continue praying for Roger Taylor's family, for everyone affected by this tragedy, and for justice, truth, and healing to prevail.

When people hear the word "purity," most think about dating, temptation, or the challenges young people face before marriage.

But what if one of the greatest purity battles actually happens after the wedding?

That is the message former adult film star turned ministry leader Brittni De La Mora is sharing alongside her husband, Richard. And it is a reminder many believers need to hear.

After experiencing radical life transformation through faith in Jesus Christ, Brittni now spends her life helping others pursue God's design for relationships. Recently, she and Richard opened up about an often-overlooked truth: purity is not just about getting to marriage. It is also about protecting what happens inside marriage.

"As far as keeping it pure within a marriage," Brittni explained, "in order to have a fruitful marriage, you need the presence of God."

It is a simple statement, but a powerful one.

In a culture that often focuses on external appearances, the De La Moras believe the real battle begins in the heart. They encourage couples to stay rooted in Scripture, spend time with God daily, and carefully guard their minds from influences that can slowly erode intimacy, trust, and spiritual health.

"Everything we do flows from your heart," Brittni said.

Richard echoed that message, warning that unresolved anger, bitterness, and unhealthy thought patterns can quietly take root and become strongholds over time.

"The Bible says, above all else, guard your heart because everything you do flows from it," he explained. "Actions are affected by everything going on inwardly."

That truth reaches far beyond marriage. What we allow into our hearts eventually shapes our words, our decisions, and our relationships.

One of the couple's most practical pieces of advice is accountability. They emphasize transparency in conversations with members of the opposite s*x and maintaining healthy boundaries that protect trust.

Brittni says she and Richard are open with one another about their interactions and communication. For them, honesty is not about suspicion. It is about wisdom.

Richard also shared a personal practice that helps him stay focused on what is pure. If a social media account or online content could stir unhealthy desires or temptations, he removes it from his feed.

"The easiest way to eliminate a temptation is: don't put a temptation in front of you," he said.

That statement may sound straightforward, but in today's digital world, it is profoundly relevant.

Their story is a beautiful reminder that a strong marriage is not built by accident. It is built through daily choices, intentional boundaries, humility, and a continual dependence on God.

Perhaps the most encouraging part of their journey is this: no past is too broken for God to redeem.

The same God who transformed Brittni's life is still transforming hearts today. His grace restores. His truth guides. And His presence remains the foundation of every healthy, fruitful relationship.

Maybe that is the reminder someone needs today: guarding your heart is not about restriction. It is about protecting the very place where God wants to do His greatest work.

Why Christians are panicking about end times (but God isn't) 🙏

Everywhere you look, believers are arguing timelines and passing fear around like candy. But Psalm 2 reveals something powerful: while nations rage and scheme, God isn't pacing or scrambling, He's sitting on His throne. End times teaching should wake you up, not freak you out.

What's one fear you need to surrender to God today?

Before he ever set out to write about Elvis Presley’s faith, Billy Stanley says something happened that completely changed the course of his life.

Stanley, the stepbrother of music icon Elvis Presley, recently shared a remarkable story about a medical crisis in 2018 that he believes became a profound spiritual turning point.

According to Stanley, he was clinically dead for approximately 10 minutes during a near-death experience. What happened during that time, he says, left him convinced of the reality of heaven and gave him a renewed sense of purpose.

"Everybody says, 'Why are you doing this now?'" Stanley explained while discussing his book, The Faith of Elvis: A Story Only a Brother Can Tell. His answer points back to that life-altering moment.

While near death, Stanley claims he experienced what he describes as a visit to heaven. There, he says, he saw Elvis and heard a message that has stayed with him ever since: "Tell my family, my friends, and my fans I love them. I'll see them when they get here."

He also recalls hearing another voice that he believes was God, speaking words that deeply impacted him: "No doubt, no fear."

For Stanley, those words carried two powerful truths. First, that heaven is real. Second, that believers have no reason to fear eternity when their faith is anchored in Jesus Christ.

Whether someone accepts near-death experiences as spiritual encounters or views them with caution, one thing is undeniable: the experience profoundly affected Stanley's life. A Christian since age 13, he says the event transformed heaven from a theological concept into a deeply personal reality.

"The first thing you feel is this overwhelming sense of love," Stanley said. "Like you've never felt before in your whole life."

That overwhelming peace did not fade when he recovered. In fact, Stanley says he spent weeks praying quietly, asking God what he was supposed to do with the experience. Years later, he believes the answer became clear: tell people about it and point them toward faith.

That conviction eventually led him to write about Elvis' spiritual journey, a side of the legendary performer many fans rarely hear discussed.

Stories like this naturally spark debate. Some will be inspired. Others will remain skeptical. But they also raise a question that reaches far beyond celebrity or near-death experiences:

What happens after this life?

For Christians, the hope of eternity is not built on extraordinary stories. It is built on the promises of Christ. Yet testimonies like Stanley's remind people why those promises matter.

Life is fragile. None of us know how much time we have. But the Gospel continues to offer the same invitation it always has: faith, forgiveness, and hope that reaches beyond the grave.

Perhaps that is why this story resonates with so many people. At its heart, it is not really about a famous singer. It is about the eternal longing that exists in every human heart and the reminder that our greatest hope is found not in this world, but in the One who conquered death itself.

If this story encouraged you, share it with someone who needs a reminder that faith gives hope beyond what we can see.
