Some of you have heard my "rant'' about calling habituation/desensitization/counter-conditioning socialization when it clearly can't be. This article clearly describes the importance of TRUE socialization of puppies. Get your puppy in a good puppy class ASAP!!

Peanut butter sedation is our favorite way of doing nail trims for dogs who are only slightly concerned about them.
Thunderstorm season is upon us and with that, many dogs and people are struggling with thunderstorm phobias. Here is a helpful document from APDT with tips to help with this phobia in dogs. Remember, when discussing medications with your veterinarian that acepromazine has NO anti-anxiety properties and should NOT be used in fearful dogs.
