Leadership is easy to admire when the results are visible.
People see the promotion, the growth, the high performing team, and the recognition that comes with success.
What they rarely see is the weight required to produce those outcomes.
They don't see the difficult conversation that kept a talented employee from leaving. They don't see the decision that had no perfect answer. They don't see the leader trying to balance accountability with empathy, urgency with patience, performance with humanity.
The longer I do this work, the more convinced I become that leadership is not tested when things are easy.
It is tested when expectations are high, emotions are elevated, resources are limited, and people are looking to you for answers you may not yet have.
That is where leadership becomes heavy.
And that is where leadership becomes meaningful.
Organizations do not struggle because they lack intelligent people. More often, they struggle because leaders have never been given the tools, support, or space to navigate the pressure they carry every day.
That is why I coach leaders, facilitate leadership teams, and partner with organizations that want stronger cultures and better results.
If your leaders are navigating change, struggling with communication, experiencing burnout, or trying to build greater trust and accountability across teams, let's talk.
The challenge showing up in your organization today may not be a strategy problem. It may be a leadership capacity problem.

Leadership gets difficult when your values, responsibilities, and reality pull in different directions.
One of the reasons I wrote Strong CORE is because leadership isn't difficult when everything aligns.
Leadership gets difficult when your values, your responsibilities, and your reality pull in different directions. That's where strength matters most.
Before you can lead others through the gap, you have to do the work to find your own footing.

The goal isn't to remove the tension. The goal is to tell the truth inside of it.
What do you do when your team trusts you more than they trust the company?
Don't absorb responsibility for everything. Don't take ownership for things you don't control. Don't abandon the people you do lead.
Listen. Translate. Advocate.
The goal isn't to remove the tension. The goal is to become strong enough to carry it.

The strongest leaders aren't defenders or prosecutors. They're translators.
Leadership often means helping people understand a reality you didn't create while still advocating for a future you hope becomes possible.
The strongest leaders become translators. They understand both sides and help the message make sense.
When you’re caught between a reality you didn't create and a future you’re trying to build, what is the one thing that keeps you grounded?

I was just notified that I have been selected to serve as the Executive Coach for a senior leader after they completed interviews with several potential coaches.
After meeting with multiple coaches, they expressed a strong connection with me and chose to partner together for their executive coaching engagement.
Their organization shared that my partnership with this leader will be instrumental in supporting their continued growth and development.
Moments like this never get old.
I do not share this because of the selection itself. I share it because it is a reminder that people choose people before they choose processes, frameworks, or credentials. Coaching is built on trust. It begins with connection.
I am grateful for the opportunity, humbled by the responsibility, and excited for the journey ahead.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their growth, challenged me to become a better coach, and supported this next chapter of CORE Inclusive Consulting.
Growth is always personal before it becomes professional. Today, I am simply grateful to be invited into that work.

🏅 Become the Bridge
Most leaders spend their time focused on the destination.
The goal. The outcome. The vision.
But leadership is rarely tested at the destination.
It is tested in the space between.
The space between uncertainty and confidence.
The space between change and acceptance.
The space between where people are and where they need to be.
This week's Timeout explores a lesson from pole vaulting and why the strongest leaders do more than point people toward a goal.
They become the bridge that helps others move forward.
Sometimes people simply need a bridge.
🏅 Help people navigate the space between
Strong leaders guide others through transition.
🏅 Build momentum before demanding movement
Connection creates commitment.
🏅 Create clarity during uncertainty
People move forward when they understand the path.
🏅 Become what others need to cross
Leadership is often about helping people move through what they cannot navigate alone.
This week is about becoming the bridge.
Not just helping people reach the destination.
But helping them navigate the journey.
Because some of the most important leadership work happens in the space between where people are and where they need to be.

A company can win a "Best Place to Work" award and still fail at being a "Good Place to Live."
What happens when your values and your employer's decisions stop perfectly aligning?
This is where most leadership books stop. Strong CORE begins.
Many people aren't in a position to simply walk away. They have a mortgage, kids, responsibilities, career aspirations, and people depending on them. So they stay, often carrying a tension nobody talks about.
The question becomes: now what?
Do you become cynical? Do you disengage? Do you become a corporate cheerleader?
Or do you develop the internal strength required to operate inside the tension?
Leadership isn't just about how you lead others. It's also about how you lead yourself when your values, responsibilities, and reality pull in different directions.
How do you manage how you live in the place you work?

"What is it like to sit in the middle?"
It's the space where you have high responsibility but limited control. Your team trusts you, the organization expects results, and the feedback coming from employees sounds very different than the messages coming from leadership.
You understand the frustration. You also understand the business realities.
Welcome to the middle.
It's one of the loneliest seats in leadership because both sides are looking to you for answers you don't fully control. Your team wants honesty. The organization wants alignment. Both are looking to you to help make sense of what comes next.
The challenge isn't choosing a side. The challenge is learning how to stand in the tension without losing yourself.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of coaching and consulting with leaders at every level, from emerging leaders to executives leading global teams.
What I've been hearing consistently in recent discovery conversations isn't a lack of talent, ambition, or opportunity.
It's a search for clarity.
They need... Clarity.
People are asking questions like:
-What's next for me?
-How do I align my work with what matters most?
-Am I spending my energy in the right places?
-What decision have I been delaying because I haven't created the space to think?
Success creates its own challenges. Sometimes the very people who are leading others need a place to pause, reflect, and gain perspective on their own journey.
That's why I'm opening a small number of spots for a 90-Day Clarity Sprint.
This isn't for people who are merely interested in coaching. It's for people who are committed to personal growth.
If you've been feeling the shift and know something needs to move, let's do the work...together.

The higher you rise, the harder it is to hear the truth.
Not because people are lying to you.
Because they're managing you.
When people manage their leader, blind spots become liabilities.
To build a Strong CORE, you have to intentionally invite truth back into the room.
Here's The Assist: The 360 Mirror.
1. Pick someone you trust to be honest.
2. Be specific:
"I'm working on my communication, delegation, or meeting presence."
3. Ask:
"What is one thing I'm doing, or not doing, that is getting in my own way?"
4. Listen without defending.
Simply say, "Thank you."
Blind spots are not about finding what's wrong with you.
They're about helping your leadership land the way you intend.
"Feedback is a gift, but only if you have the CORE strength to unwrap it." —Coach Chris
