We are a small homestead that started our journey 11 years ago when we bought our property in Columbia, TN.

We have slowly been building our skill set and expanding our homestead.

Today was harvest day for some of our root veggies.

Turnips, carrots and beets.

These turnips have been growing like crazy, even in this heat, but they were providing each other a bunch of shade.

We are letting a couple carrots that bolted go to seed.

When you are in charge tortoise-sitting, the best place for him is fresh grass and the chicken tractor.

Safe to say he is staying safe on the homestead!

Tomorrow is the day to process our meat chickens!

Food trough is empty and they are thinking its feeding time, unfortunately no more food for them. Its time to empty their crops.

Will be weighing each one before culling and then again after finished.
