So every time my daughter latches on to my wife's ni**le she makes this "Ah s**t, this hurts," face. I'm looking like seriously you're not use to it by now, she doesn't even have teeth, suck it up chump lol. 🤷🏾♂️ BOY DID I have NO CLUE. So yesterday my daughter was losing her damn mind looking for the boobie milk, you know like a crack fiend.
My wife was at the gym, so I carried her downstairs to make a bottle. While we're waiting for the bottle to warm up, I'm shirtless and Nubia is laying on my shoulder she starts moving her head all crazy then just starts to suck on my clavicle. I laugh and go you're not going to get anything from there buddy. Son!!!! Her suction turned into some blood sucking Dracula type s**t.
I'm like WTF😳 I'm trying to pull her off me like... fck, fck get off me! I wanted to toss her off me like she was a demon child lol.😂 Listen man she had some newborn vampire, type strength. I quickly make her the bottle like here little focker HERE! I go in the bathroom and look at my neck and this was the result. WTF? Listen I WILL NEVER TALK S**T to my wife ever again, these babies are DANGEROUS. Guys I want you to NEVER EVER, EVER...EVER, EVER underestimate the power of a mother.🤦🏾♂️ From birthing a child to breastfeeding YOU SIR are NOT built for this type pain. 😂😂😂
Update: It's been a little over 24hrs and this post has been shared over 125k times and liked over 70k times. Wow, I am in utter shock that so many people liked my ni**les 😂 (just kidding). No seriously, I never knew sharing one of my parenting experiences with my daughter would go viral like this, this is insane. I have been a parent all of just two months, I haven't even broken the ice lol. I truly appreciate everyone who has shared, commented, and liked this post. Though I wish our Tricks to Travel course went viral like this, since our course helps teach people, especially parents, how to save thousands on their travels. My wife and I have traveled to over 100 countries together and we can't wait to travel as a family and share those experiences as well. You can follow our family's journey and find our course at www.Roadto100countries.com.
Anyhow, back to this viral post. Though, I had to learn the hard way, 🤦🏾♂️ I hope this post serves as an eye opener for other Dads out there. Please cherish, respect and never underestimate the power of a mother. Though mothers seem to have the greatest multitasking skills in the world, Dads please HELP out. Change some diapers, cleanout the breast pump cups, take the kid(s) for a few hours, make dinner (or pick up food if you can't cook), just BE SUPPORTIVE. Yes, parenting is hard on everyone, but especially on mothers. Until a man can birth and breastfeed a child, trust me guys we have no clue. Thank you again everyone for sharing and liking this post.

What Is a Prenatal Massage? An Updated Narrative for 2020 - Massage & Fitness Magazine What do you do when you have a headache or an achy back & you don’t want to take meds? A prenatal massage may relieve some common discomforts of pregnancy.

What are you doing to take a break this week?

❤️💛🧡

RSV among other things. Please don’t kiss babies.
I’ve seen pictures of other babies floating around the Internet with this caption. It’s one I can get behind.
Almost two years ago we almost lost our sweet girl to RSV. You are contagious before you even show symptoms, so please, don’t kiss babies that aren’t yours. There is no cure for RSV, and it just has to “run its course”. We spent a week in the PICU watching our baby fight.
This virus is absolutely nasty, and I don’t want any other parents to have to go through that.

‘The Support You Deserve’

Took a hike in Manitou today. It was for many reasons, but I was truly inspired to keep going when my legs wanted me to stop, when I saw these gentlemen carrying an American flag passed me on the way up!! 2768 uneven steps made of railroad ties. 2000 feet gain in elevation.
Thank you, from my family to yours, for serving and protecting our Nation. Today and Always.

9 years ago ✌🏻🤩 BLOG POST!
Today, 9 years ago, I began Massage Therapy School!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
For those who don’t know me yet, I am Heather! This is the incredible story of my massage therapy journey. And what a beautiful journey it’s been, with its ebbs and flows, Physical wear and uncertainties & many satisfied returning clients. Some that even have become friends. I’ll start by telling you the two most asked questions. From patients and clients over the years, I’ve been asked, “do you like what you do”? To that I answer, “someone doesn’t get to 9 years in Massage Therapy if they didn’t want to or like some aspect of it”. This has truly been a rewarding career, thus far. The second most asked question, From people I’ve known in my personal life, I’ve been asked, “well what are you going to do now”, or “are you still going to do massage”? Those questions are asked when I’ve changed jobs or gone on maternity leave, etc. The latter has been hard to hear and gives me a sense of disbelief in the value of Massage Therapy. 😞 But 9 years later, I am so proud of the work I have put in to maintain a successful Professional Massage Therapy career and I truly believe when me and another person are silent in the treatment room, that the skilled craft speaks for itself! And when we are engaged in conversation, the connection between life and body become one.
Did you know? I have letters behind my name. I’m Heather Skinner LMT, PICD. How cool is that? Over the last 9 years, I have worked in 3 Chiropractic offices, a few franchise spas, 2 private spas, provided chair massage at numerous 5ks, farmers markets, health fairs and even First Friday events in 90 degree weather. I have taught modalities from Medical Terminology to Reflexology to Swedish to Hot Stones and supervised the student clinic at a Massage Therapy School, owned my own successful mobile massage therapy business, taken countless hours of CEUs - to include Advanced Myofascial Release Techniques, Zen Facial Massage and modality techniques for everything from Fertility to Menopause and even completed the ProDoula Certification Course to become a Postpartum & Infant Care Doula in 2020. I have calculated a modest estimate of nearly 8,000 massages done in my career. All of that was accomplished through 3 nursing newborns, 2 cross country moves, single-motherhood, a pandemic and countless other monumental personal life moments.
When I started Massage Therapy, I was 24 and had just had my first child. I had a year of community college and a GED under my belt. I was lost. Was Massage Therapy on my radar? No way. But In hindsight, there have been times I can look back on my adolescence and see that there were subtle things that have driven here, blindly. I knew I could not continue racking up years and years of loans at a Community College with no real set goal in mind. When the idea to join a Massage Therapy program was presented to me, I was hesitant. What started as ‘going to get information’, quickly turned into ‘sign on the bottom line, please’? And Late October 2013, I was enrolled in the DSMT Fast Track program. Somehow though, 7.5 months turned to a year due to admitted, pure lack of focus and postpartum depression. But I learned so much, starting with my own vessel. I have a funny memory from Anatomy, where my instructor began discussing the different sections of vertebra. He named Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar. I’m scratching my head, having just given birth to my first child, ‘I know I’m totally clueless but uhhh, pretty sure there is no spine in anything cervical in my body’. 🤣 Memories like these help me appreciate the difficult navigation through one of the toughest classes I’ve ever taken.
My favorite and most rewarding places to facilitate my career has been in chiropractic offices. These clinics have given me a terrific work-life balance, so that I can fulfill my first priority, being mom! They’ve equipped me with even more education working hands on with the types of injuries that come across my table. They’ve given me the opportunity to hear stories of the wonderful people I get to work on. It truly makes it an even more rewarding career and they are what has continued to lead me to stay inspired by the human conditions; growing inside of myself as a person and practitioner.
Where is Heather headed next? Well, I plan to make it to 10 years of Massage. But before I end my Massage Therapy career, I’ve set my intentions to put in place what’s next. At this age of 33 and all of the things I’ve learned in the last nearly decade, both personally and professionally, I know that I want to continue working with the incredible people that I do. With injuries, life stories, scars, physical activities and ailments. I want to continue to educate people about how to help their bodies and renew a freedom in self-development, regardless of life stage and ability. I want to continue to help people FEEL BETTER. And I want to continue to learn.
I’ll explain more after I set some important steps into place over the next several months. For always, your support is abundantly appreciated. I will never stop my own self-development and challenging myself! I’m so excited to see the challenges ahead in my Wellness career.
🤨 Wondering where you can find me now? If you are in the COLORADO SPRINGS area, I am ACCEPTING LIMITED CLIENTS for customizable, therapeutic in home visits.

Wondering where I’ve been the last 8 months?
Well, In January, my family and I relocated back to a place that we love dearly and call home! COLORADO SPRINGS. It’s been exciting.
As most of you know, we hail from Denver “originally”. I’ve been working on getting to know my new area.
Get ready for the next chapter in my Wellness career! And as always THANK YOU from the depths of my heart for sticking around and watching where my career takes me!

This post from Scary Mommy.
What works for you and your family may not be for someone else. And that’s COMPLETELY Okay!
It is my joy to facilitate and nurture your chosen philosophy on parenting.

How AMAZING are our bodies?!
A photo showing droplets of breast milk fending off armies of harmful bacteria in Petri dishes is going viral on Facebook.
The photo, posted by a biology student in England, features nine Petri dishes completely colonized with the bacteria M. Luteus, except in the center, where tiny puddles of breast milk have created what looks like “moats” of protection around themselves.
The student, Vicky Green, said she had similar results with Petri dishes full of e.Coli and the dreaded anti-biotic resistant “super bug” MRSA.
“The white spots in the middle are discs soaked in two samples of breastmilk,” Green wrote in the caption of her post. “See the clear bit around the discs ― that’s where the proteins in the milk have inhibited the bacteria!”
An article from YourPediatrician.com explains how this is possible:
“About 80 percent of the cells in breast milk are macrophages, cells that kill bacteria, fungi and viruses. Breast-fed babies are protected, in varying degrees, from a number of illnesses, including pneumonia, botulism, bronchitis, staphylococcal infections, influenza, ear infections, and German measles. Furthermore, mothers produce antibodies to whatever disease is present in their environment, making their milk custom-designed to fight the diseases their babies are exposed to as well.”
What’s even more impressive is that the samples of milk in the photos came from the mother of a 15-month-old and a 3-year-old, providing further evidence that breast milk continues to protect against illness long beyond infancy.

🤪🤷🏼♀️ Happy Monday!

It’s been my dream for the former 8 years to bring top-notch treatment and support to my clients between Colorado and Georgia!
Thank you for your business and belief in the wellness care that the Massage Therapy Industry provides.

☀️From Heather and family, we wish you a safe, comforting and healthy Thanksgiving Day.
🦃 Feel free to share below, what you are most thankful for in the most unknown and consistently inconsistent year.☀️
This year, I am so beyond thankful for my family. Sure, that’s the “go-to”, safe answer. But this year, family is ever-more solidified by who ever your village, your quarantine pod, your people who, although may have different views, share one common goal.
That is goal has and will continue to be the children that come after us. The ones we bare and raise.
☀️ See, my family is beautifully unconventional. It is made up of 3 adults and 4 children. No, it’s not what you may be thinking and so many people already know our story. I am so thankful for the friendship that has been cultivated by myself, my ex-husband and his wife. We are a team and work hard, together and apart, to raise my 3 children, one of which we share, as well as their child. This has taken a lot of personal growth, trust and trials. We have equipped ourselves with the motivation and tools to tackle life together. And together we will teach our collective brood the value of love, forgiveness, kindness, gratefulness, equal work and family, no matter what it looks like!

Time is running out to get your gift cards early, ☀️45 minutes for $45☀️ That’s all folks, this special WILL run out when N O V E M B E R does!

+ Doula
😉✌🏻☀️

One thing I learned after having a second baby was that I was putting too much pressure on myself. But I wasn’t an angry mom. I was just holding too many things.

Massage Therapy goes far beyond using a lotion to relax the muscles and moisturize the skin. The modalities are vast and affect not only the muscles but the nervous system, digestive system, as well as completely relieve headaches. The list of benefits and applications is abundant.
It is because no body is the same, no massage is created equal (and for good reason) and every result is unique. Make M A S S A G E✌🏻T H E R A P Y a regular in your wellness routine.
