I called my shot…and somehow nailed it.

Before strapping the Durango Hellcat to the dyno, I predicted it would make 592whp.

After adding an ATI 10% lower pulley to the Kong 108mm throttle body, aFe intake, and super high flow midpipes, we loaded it up on the dyno at over 8,000ft density altitude.

Result?

592whp.

Not corrected. Not sea-level math. Real-world Colorado power.

The best part is we’re not done yet. The logs show there’s still more left with colder plugs, tighter plug gaps, and a proper tune from RPM Denver.

⚠️ I do NOT recommend running a lower pulley without tuning, especially at lower elevations where the engine will see significantly more airflow and load than we do here in Colorado.

Thanks to Under Pressure Performance for some local dyno time.

Next stop: plugs and tune from Rains Precision Motorsports and then back to the track.

Built on trust, tested in the real world.

I finally put the $400 Spool Performance ethanol tester up against the classic $15 tube tester.

The results were NOT what I expected.

One sample tested around E85 with the cheap tube tester… but the Spool tester said it was only 74% ethanol. That’s a massive difference if you’re tuning a performance vehicle around ethanol content.

The second sample came back at 69%, which was pretty much exactly what I expected.

So now I’ve got a question for you:

Would you rather trust a $15 tester or spend $400 for the digital one?

Drop a comment and let me know which one you’d use and why. 👇

$400 ethanol tester vs. the $15 Amazon special. 😅

I’ve tested E85 with the cheap graduated tubes for years, but after hearing enough people swear by the Spool Performance Handheld Ethanol Analyzer, I finally decided to see what the hype is about. Spool Performance

This thing uses a real sensor and Bluetooth app to give instant ethanol readings instead of the old water-and-shake method. Is it 26 times better than a test tube? We’re about to find out.

For anyone running boosted cars on ethanol, knowing whether you’re getting E60, E70, or true E85 can be the difference between making power and making expensive noises.

Have you used one of these before? Worth $400 or overkill?

“Fab” might be a strong word. 😂

Brad hadn’t welded anything in over 20 years, but the Ranger needed an exhaust, so he grabbed a welder and got to work.

Does it look pretty? Not even a little.
Does it leak? A little.
Does it work? Absolutely.

Sometimes building cool stuff isn’t about perfection. It’s about figuring it out and making it happen.

We sat down to record the Coyote swapped Ranger story - the good, the bad, and the ugly. We have a full conversation coming soon on YouTube. If you aren’t subscribed yet, you’re going to want to be. We talk about the story of how we got to where we are today with the Blue , where it’s going next, and what we would have done differently if we were to do it all over again.

Until we drop the interview, you can enjoy some of these nuggets.

If you’ve been curious on how to swap the AC and accessory belt on your Coyote swapped ford ranger, here’s the quick, down and dirty, how-to for it.

Make sure you follow these steps exactly or you’ll run into issues for sure.

This is a natural point in any major build or swap. Everything is fine. It’s fine. Definitely all fine.

Everybody has fast world problems sometimes, and you need friends to help.

What’s your FWP story?

Had my wife try to guess the car parts I had laid out. How do you think she did? I think she did great. Definitely not a car girlie, but she patiently puts up with me.

always comes through with such nice stuff.

Now the Durango can match the Trackhawk. I love the subtle look of the white on white.
