I'm running for Congress to help end the divisiveness so we can focus on improving life in America! I am 37 years old, born and raised in Sauquoit, NY.
My name is Jacob Addington and I am running as a Democrat for New York's 22nd congressional district in 2024. I served for 16 years in the US Marine Corps, and I currently work on a green bean farm in Oneida County. I have lived many places and met a wide variety of people which makes me feel like I have a well-rounded perspective on life in the United States. It frustrates me to see the amount of
divisiveness and polarization in our politics and media today and I would like to help bring civility and well-reasoned, thoughtful discussion to our government. The main areas I would like to make reforms are:
Election reform is my first priority because nothing else is going to get done right until we can get a group of people to Washington who will work together. Healthcare is my second priority because, out of all our problems, it has the most obvious and popular solution. I think action against climate is the most important priority, but we need to do a lot more groundwork in terms of education, election reform, and economic policy changes to make meaningful action feasible. Follow me on social media for more in-depth explanations about the specific policies I support.
