Seven lemons. Countless layers. A whole lot of Italy-inspired daydreaming. 🍋✨

This is the final reveal in my Sorrento Lemon series, and what a joyful journey it has been. From experimenting with new techniques to reliving memories of sunshine, ocean views, and limoncello-filled afternoons, each piece has carried a little piece of Sorrento with it.

Turns out retirement looks a little different than I imagined. 😆

Some people spend their days perfecting their golf swing. I spend mine chasing alcohol ink across paper, experimenting with new ideas, and seeing where the colors decide to go.

Honestly? I think I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Every favorite technique I’ve discovered started with a simple question:

✨ “What if I try this?”

Sometimes it works. Sometimes it absolutely does not. But every once in a while, it leads somewhere unexpected and beautiful—and that’s where the magic happens.

Turns out curiosity is a pretty good creative partner.

These Sorrento lemon pieces began with memories of Italy and a curiosity to try something new. Layer by layer, I mixed sunshine, travel memories, fresh techniques, and a whole lot of lemon-inspired joy into every detail.

This Sorrento lemon background took a few unexpected detours before finding its way. Turns out “mess it up, fix it, make it better” is a legitimate creative process.

Sometimes the best part of creating is being willing to start over and trust the next layer.
