What's happening on the SHAMBA (land) this week?? Fence posts are being put in so that next week the wire can be attached!! The guys are averaging about 40 posts a day!!!! To fence in the whole property of 63 acres will take about 700 fence posts. As of today, they have put in over 400 fence posts!!!! At a cost of about $18 a piece, not including the cement to secure them in the ground and transport to get them to the land, that is roughly about $7200 that has been spent just on fence posts!

GOD IS SO GOOD!!

Today, Friday May 6, 2022 is a historical day for The Orphans of Kenya Project. For the last 6 weeks, we have been clearing land! That means clearing acres and acres of bushes with machetes and digging up roots and stumps. Today, we put in the ground our very first fence post! The first of over 600 fence posts that will be put in the ground to secure the property in the next few months. We are hoping to start building walls for the compound and drilling our well in the next few weeks. Please pray for us and if possible, please support us financially. From this point on we need your financial support. For more information, please go to ookp.org.

Sorry my post is late but a STOMACH BUG stopped us dead in our tracks last week! Then we had no electricity for about 5 days and no running water for about 4 days.

We officially had our very first Cornerstone Baptist Church service held in our living room on April 17, 2022. We had a total of 25 present for our first service. We celebrated with a BBQ of chicken and hot dogs on the grill with scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, and watermelon when service was over! RONGO is our location now, but HOMA BAY will be our church's destination when the buildings are built.

It was a great time of faith, fun, food, and fellowship!

Thank you all so much for all your prayers and financial support to help us get to this stage of our mission! Please keep praying for us as we have begun clearing the land in preparation for the fence to be put up around the 63 acres!!! We are praying diligently for GOD to supply the money needed to dig the well that will provide the water needed for our project! A well will cost $25,000 and has to be paid before the digging can begin.

For the last 3 weeks, the guys have been diligently clearing off the land in Homa Bay in preparation to begin building our boarding school for orphans and needy children.
Please continue to pray for us as we move forward. Clearing the land in the hot Kenyan sun is a long and tedious process.

On this land we will build a church, a boarding school for orphans and needy children, a med clinic and eventually a trade school as well.
