To Our Greater Cleveland Educators + Students,
Following a national meeting with leaders from the Scholastic Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, we at the Cleveland Institute of Art would like to share the following important updates for the 2024 Scholastic Art & Writing Competition:
• CIA has extended the Greater Cleveland Region's submission deadline to 11:59pm Thursday, February 1.
• At the Alliance's request, we ask those who have been prevented from submitting work to hold off on accessing their Scholastic accounts until the new year. The Alliance believes that a pause on activity on the site will maximize their ability to fix the problems with the portal.
• CIA is committed to judging submissions at the regional level so local students can receive awards and have an opportunity to compete—and earn scholarships—at the national level.
• Details on CIA's 2024 Scholastic exhibition will be shared at a later date, after we can evaluate gallery schedules and resources to plan the best possible celebration.
We realize this isn't ideal, but we're grateful for your continued patience as well as your understanding that much of this is out of CIA's control. What we can control, however, is the College's commitment to supporting artists at every stage of their career—which is why it's so important to CIA to continue with the 2024 Scholastic Art & Writing Competition & Exhibition. We're glad you're joining us.
📣📣The Greater Cleveland Region submission deadline for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards has been extended until **Wednesday, December 13, 2023**
