🔥 Field Trip Recap – Inside a Working District Energy Plant

Our Stationary Engineer class recently toured The Medical Center Company in University Circle, Cleveland, and what an experience it was.

Students saw firsthand how a district energy plant produces and distributes steam and chilled water to hospitals, research facilities, and major institutions across the area.

Thank you to MC, John, and Jeremy for hosting us!

Our class had the opportunity to visit Cleveland Thermal for a behind-the-scenes look at district energy production and steam plant operations.

Field trips like this give students valuable exposure to real equipment, real systems, and real career paths in stationary engineering.

Thank you to the Cleveland Thermal team for welcoming us and sharing your knowledge.

'A big win.' Babcock & Wilcox investing $60 million in Massillon hydrogen production site 09/11/2024

Babcock & Wilcox is bringing something exciting to Massillon—a hydrogen production plant that utilizes steam in a groundbreaking way!

Their BrightLoop process captures heat from natural gas to produce its own steam, which is then used to generate clean hydrogen. For Stationary Engineers, this is a big deal. Steam systems are at the heart of many industrial processes, and now they're becoming essential in clean energy production too!

Understanding these advancements in steam technology and hydrogen production puts us at the forefront of the future energy landscape. As the demand for clean hydrogen grows, so does the need for skilled engineers who can manage and optimize these steam-driven systems. This is an opportunity for us to stay ahead of industry trends and secure roles in cutting-edge energy projects.

Get ready to play a key role in the next generation of energy production! ⚙️🔧

'A big win.' Babcock & Wilcox investing $60 million in Massillon hydrogen production site Akron-based Babcock & Wilcox plans to build a $60 million hydrogen plant in Massillon. It will produce three to five tons of hydrogen per day.
