Big tool box, pretty much end of every day and ready to leave next day! I am 100 percent involved in every project we do and I wear tool belt every day. Bottom line, I would not have it any other way!

Flat roof against chimney is time ticking bomb and really hard to properly waterproof. New gable roof and cricket around chimney for this room and new life. Slide to see what we did. All work by Zekic Construction

What I have been up too for last 12 working weeks, two carpenters and the old house. There is so much to say about remodeling 100 years old house with C grade label.( yep they grade houses, lower the grade more headaches guaranteed!) all work by Zekic construction.

One of my never ending projects, Venetian plaster veneer range hood built in, first one for me. Layout change put the vent pipe into wrong place, this was quick fix and I actually like the feel and look of plaster veneer! Homeowners idea but I will keep it in my book of tricks for future. Current remodel, insulation in attic , 101 year old home. It’s not as simple as if it was new construction and there are many things to consider. I could talk about it in long post but nobody will read it. Any way I could have just installed some r19 pink stuff, collect check and move on, or maybe spray foam! I think both options would be wrong in this situation! If you have questions feel free to contact me! Bad insulation job can cause more harm then good if not done well. If doing it wrong why do it at all? Not to say that what I am doing is right 100 % but I do spend significant amounts of time thinking and researching about what I do and how to achieve best results. This is not our first project done this way and we know that projects completed 10 years ago are holding up very well! No more ice dams! Time for interior wall framing and the bathroom installation. In remodeling old house if opportunity presents it self to improve something that otherwise would be difficult to do later jumping on it and dealing with is something that I am always open too. Current attic remodel, has been difficult and time consuming project for many reasons but that did not stop me from taking 3 days and completely reworking electricity on second floor of the house. All new circuits, grounded outlets, fan boxes and lights. Minimal disruption to second floor and job is completed. I am lucky to be working on homeowners permit and having confidence and knowledge to take on job! It just made sense to do it now! All work by Zekic Construction

From recently completed kitchen project, old homes are gift that keeps on giving. We had two inch drop in floor and I decided to take up floor to the original frame and correct this. We found foundation collapsed and Water poring in. This area while is closed in on top is completely open to the outside underneath. Who ever closed in existing porch did not even try to correct the problem. Most homeowners would not know better if this was covered and forgotten but that is not my way! Also understanding insulation is important, we can’t just place some in between joist and move on, that would wet and useless with in a month. Being my own boss is great because I can make decisions right on spot, adding plastic and gravel over open ground for moisture protection, 2”xps foam for thermal break and two layers of rockwool for total of r40 value will make huge difference and garantí that new hardwood floors will last for long time not to mention how much different this will feel this winter. We had to repair foundation our selfs as well since nobody wanted to be bothered with this! This all works against me, timeline, deadline, estimate, everything goes out of the window when this happens ( and happens all the time).
