June High School/College Challenge: Near-Earth Asteroid Risk Dashboard

Challenge: Build a dashboard that ranks near-Earth asteroids by close-approach distance, size estimate, velocity, and potential hazard status.

NASA data: Asteroids NeoWs API / Near-Earth Object data
NeoWs lets students search asteroid close approaches, look up asteroids by NASA JPL small-body ID, and browse near-Earth object data.

Student skills: Python, APIs, JSON, data visualization, astronomy, risk communication.

Final product: A web dashboard or Power BI report titled “Which Asteroids Should We Monitor?”
