It’s official: Windsong, Cleveland’s Feminist Chorus, has been invited to perform on the legendary Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City!
For decades, we’ve used our voices across Northeast Ohio to sing for community, equality, and social justice. In June 2027, we’ll bring that vital message to one of the world’s most iconic concert halls, performing landmark works including Rollo Dilworth’s Weather and Pax Ressler’s Banned Together.
Taking this stage is an incredible honor - not just for our choir, but for the community we represent. But as a feminist organization rooted in intentional inclusivity, our core value is clear: our milestone belongs to all of us, and no singer should be left behind due to cost.
Production residency packages and travel to New York range from $1,399 to $2,000 per singer. For many of our members, that cost is a barrier.
We’ve launched our official Windsong to Carnegie Hall: Help Every Voice Take the Stage donation campaign on Zeffy. 100% of every dollar contributed goes directly toward travel, lodging, and performance subsidies for our singers with financial need.
No amount is too small. Every single dollar brings our full chorus and full sound to New York.

Something wicked this way sings!
Join us for Windsong Cleveland’s 3rd Annual Spooky CaBOOret Fundraiser on Sunday, October 25 (6:30–9:30 PM) at (2180 Lee Rd, Cleveland Heights).
Hosted by the fabulous .lexin, the night features live performances, a costume contest, karaoke hour, and a 50/50 raffle. Admission is just $10 at the door and supports Windsong, Cleveland’s Feminist Chorus.
Throw on your favorite costume, grab a glass of wine, and come celebrate a wickedly fun night with us!

New season, new music!
Folders (or tablets) are prepped, rehearsal tracks are already on repeat, and we’re diving into the repertoire for our December concert, Prose, Poetry, & Protest. (Yes, you can still join! DM us for more info - no rehearsal Labor Day weekend!)
We'd also like to send a massive shoutout to our music librarians, Wren and Mary, who keep all of our music organized and ready to sing.

Hearing of Gloria Steinem’s passing brings up sadness, deep gratitude, and a lot of reflection.
Second-wave feminism had real blind spots around race and class that later generations have had to confront and dismantle. Yet Steinem broke open doors that allow us to have those vital conversations today.
Progress has always taken many forms - from Gloria organizing coalitions on the front lines, to Dolly Parton using wit, grit, and 9 to 5 to give working women an undeniable voice.
We’re tackling "Keep Marching" from Suffs this season, whose lyrics rings especially true right now:
"And remember every mother that you came from
Learn as much from our success as our mistakes
Don’t forget you’re merely one of many others
On the journey every generation makes
We did not end injustice and neither will you
But still, we made strides so we know you can too
Make peace with our incomplete power and use it for good

Help us welcome the newest addition to the Windsong family: Dawna Rae Warren, our new Chorus Admin! In her role, she’ll be keeping Windsong running smoothly behind the scenes.
Dawna Rae is a native Ohioan and a lifelong lover of the arts. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory, a Master of Music from the University of Kentucky, and an Artist Diploma from CU Boulder. Outside of her administrative work, Dawna Rae performs as a jazz singer and choral scholar locally and travels to perform in operas and concert works with orchestra.
When she’s not singing, she loves thrifting, drinking oat milk dirty chais, and bothering her little Yorkie.
There is something special about hearing a piece take flight for the first time.

As we prepare for our December 6 concert, Prose, Poetry, and Protest, this piece anchors the power of text set to music. Diop’s words speak to the enduring presence of our ancestors and the strength found in listening to the natural world.
