June is National Men’s Health Month, making it a great time to talk with your doctor about prostate cancer screening.

One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime, and many experience no symptoms in the early stages of the disease. The good news is that prostate cancer is highly treatable when detected early.

For many men, PSA testing is an important first step in screening and is typically recommended beginning around ages 45–50, depending on family history and other risk factors.

Men should also know that an elevated PSA result is common and does not necessarily mean cancer is present. In those situations, the IsoPSA Test can provide additional insight into a patient’s risk of clinically significant prostate cancer, helping men and their physicians make more informed decisions about next steps.

Dr. Arnon Chait, Chief Innovation Officer at Cleveland Diagnostics, and Dr. Russ Lebovitz, Chief Executive Officer and Cofounder of Amprion, recently sat down with The Pathologist to discuss “The Chronic Disease Conundrum” and how advancing diagnostics can support our aging population.

Drs. Chait and Lebovitz agree that diagnostics need to be clinically actionable and more biology-driven, using biomarkers and proteomics to identify disease earlier and more accurately.

“Clinically actionable diagnostics must go beyond identifying abnormalities—they need to inform clinical decisions. This means delivering results that are disease- and patient-specific, reproducible, and practical within routine workflows,” Dr. Chait shares.

In this OncLive interview, Dr. Jason Hafron with the Michigan Institute of Urology shares key takeaways from , including discussion around PC360, a quality initiative designed to support men receiving ADT for prostate cancer.

Advancing prostate cancer care requires accurate detection to support informed decision-making and improved outcomes throughout the patient journey. The IsoPSA Test is designed to help support risk stratification and biopsy decision-making as part of that broader continuum of care.

As conversations at continue to expand how we think about cancer detection, one theme has emerged: while finding more cancer is valuable, we still need increased focus on identifying clinically significant disease.

This article from AUA News highlights the growing concern around overdiagnosis and overtreatment. The IsoPSA Test was designed to address that challenge: improving detection of clinically significant prostate cancer while simultaneously helping reduce unnecessary biopsies and overtreatment of indolent disease.

As you know, PSA is a valuable screening tool, but it lacks specificity. The results may not allow clinicians to distinguish clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) from benign conditions like prostatitis, inflammation, or BPH.

The IsoPSA Test is different. It’s designed to improve specificity, enhance MRI results, and provide insight into a patient’s risk of csPCa over the next 30 months.

A recent article highlights ongoing efforts to reduce unnecessary prostate biopsies through improved risk stratification.

The IsoPSA Test was developed to address the limitations of PSA by improving specificity for clinically significant prostate cancer. In clinical use, the IsoPSA Test has demonstrated the ability to reduce biopsy recommendations for low-risk patients while also helping to identify high-risk patients for intervention or closer monitoring.
