Lucas wanted the ENTIRE video of Rubik’s Cube put on. Whatever my grandson reasonably wants on Fridays between 8:50 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. he gets.

Prayers, Love and Condolences offered to the family of Joni Lamb….

Going through my iPhone photograph file of photos with Marcus and Joni Lamb, and reflecting on the visits and moments I shared with them through the years, reminded me that some memories are best expressed not only through photographs, but through the stories and impressions that remain in our hearts.

Long before the lights, studios, and global reach, Joni was a young person shaped by church life, raised in the spirit and fellowship of Tremont Avenue Church of God. She loved the Church of God family and never seemed to forget those roots. Alongside Marcus, she helped build a ministry from humble beginnings into a voice that reached nations.

I remember telethons when they were held in what were once grocery stores. I remember when the network reached only a handful of states instead of the world. I remember the faith it took to keep believing in a vision that many could not yet see.

Over the years, Marcus and Joni opened their platform and their hearts to so many within the Church of God family. They carried General Assemblies, Winterfests, camp meetings, and ministry events into homes around the world. They encouraged ministers, singers, missionaries, and authors, often quietly helping people fulfill their calling without asking for anything in return. They also gave generously, over and again, to Church of God World Missions and to causes that helped carry the Gospel around the world.

Marcus never could get me on the golf course, but my visits with Marcus and Joni usually ended around a meal table, where conversations almost always turned to all things Church of God. If it was near a General Assembly, they were eager to talk about the future of the church, its ministries, and its people. Their love for the church and its mission was genuine and deeply rooted.

No one is unaware that recent years brought challenges and difficult moments, as life often does. Yet moments like these give us an opportunity to pause, reflect, and remember the many lives that were touched through years of faith, sacrifice, perseverance, and ministry.

Today, I choose to remember a woman who stood beside her husband, believed in a vision, and helped build something that carried the Gospel farther than any of us could have imagined in those early days.
May her memory be honored with gratitude, grace, and peace.

My prayers are with the Lamb Family today as they prepare for the days ahead.
