Sam Lasko AKA (Still Active)
Ok, so Sam is my best friend and cousin (moms are sisters)… him and I learned how to play and produce music together and played a major role in eachothers music upbringing. From heavy metal projects, to dubstep, hip hop, and even rock, folk, and pop. We still work together and support eachother in all of our projects. He lives in LA with his wife, Dawn Lu who is a wonderful, beautiful, and extremely talented photographer. They live in LA, and I am a huge fan of Sam’s latest EP “Cannonball”. He’s the real deal, from songwriting and production to the aesthetics and storylines, Sam takes “bedroom pop” to the next level. Anyone who knows us knows how deep it goes! Check out the tracks “After All”, “Tap Water”, and “Evil Knievel”. Go stream our playlist, link is in the bio! Show some love to the family we love you ❤️

Bobby Rosengarden (1924-2007)
Bobby, my paternal grandfather was a successful jazz drummer in NYC in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. He came from the Chicago area and learned drums from teacher, Roy Knapp. Bobby’s mother was a pianist for silent movies, and his father was a broom salesman at the turn of the century. He played drums in the military and ended up landing major work in television with NBC playing nights at the Copacobana, for Johnny Carson, and ultimately leading the band for Dick Cavett’s evening talkshow. He took a lot of different vitamins and ate wheat germ for breakfast regularly. He’s played percussion on many hits like “Stand By Me”, and the theme to “Good, Bad, and Ugly”, and supporting live acts like Jimi Hendrix. Bobby was a very hard working guy, known to take work seriously but was pretty goofy in his personal life. My memories of him were pretty deep into his battle with Alzheimers, though I do remember playing drums with him and enjoying our visits.

Jim Greer (1971 - Current/Active)
Yo! So this is Jim (known as Jamie by family) Greer. Jim’s my mom’s youngest sibling and only brother of four. He’s worked on dozens of different genre projects and has worked with artists like Foster The People, Dan the Automator, and Del Tha Funkee Homosapien. He’s one of the biggest teachers and inspirations in my life alongside my cousin Sam. Always making records, performing, coming to visit with a mobile protools rig and letting me record beatles songs. He’s still a certified cool-dude-music guy, we talk often and his music qis some of my favorite in the family. A few songs to check out are “Save Me”, “Own My Shadow”, and “Just a Young Man”. A few fun facts about Jim are that he actually ended up marrying my sister and I’s childhood au pair, they live in Berkley, CA and have a beatiful family. Jim and I have played together at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco, and he continues to make original and exciting music with me, my cousin Sam, and his band Cardboard People. He has fallen off of a horse twice.

Arne Oldberg (1874 - 1962)
Ok, so Arne is my great-great grandfather. He was a classical composer made famous in Chicago right after the entire city burnt down and was re-establishing. From what I understand he and his wife (Mary Sloan) played a major role in piano/orchestral music at the time, and his music has fortunately been preserved. This is the first family music appreciation post, i’m gonna make a post for each artist! If my family on either side has had any impact on you feel free to check out my playlist ❤️
