Meet the second of our new teachers, Mr. Alex Flauto!
Alex Flauto is joining Trinity this year as the Information Technology teacher.
He graduated from DePaul University with a degree in Cybersecurity and enjoys helping students learn how technology can be used to solve problems.
Outside the classroom, Alex enjoys spending time outdoors, including hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and visiting National Parks. He is also a multi-instrument musician who writes and records his own music.
Alex is always exploring new ideas and skills, and he looks forward to bringing that curiosity into the classroom while helping Trinity students discover new interests through technology.

Trinity High School welcomes FOUR new staff members this year! Welcome to Mr. Tom Urig!
Mr. Urig is joining the History department at Trinity High School. He started his teaching career in 2018 for the Gaston County Schools teaching American History I & II at Hunter Huss High for one school year before being transferred to Ashbrook High both in Gastonia, NC where he also taught civics & econ and law and related studies.
After the 2020-21 school year, he was the building and long-term English 11 substitute at Constellation Schools: Parma Community High School. He finished the school year as a long-term world history substitute teacher at Holy Name. Since 2022, he had been a full-time social studies teacher at Constellation Schools: Parma Community High School where he taught world history, American history, geography, psychology, and introduced and taught African American history.
He also brings coaching experience and acting to Trinity. While at Ashbrook, he was the football and boys' basketball staffs, and coached baseball for two seasons at Avon Lake High School. He also made an acting appearance as Mr. Herron & Mr. Buck for Pama Community's production for Mean Girls.
Mr. Urig is a native of Avon Lake and graduated from ALHS in 1997. After high school, he enrolled at Lorain County Community College where he earned his associates of arts degree in 2002, & he started working full-time for United Garage Door in Cleveland.
He and his wife have been married since 2005 and have 5 nieces and 3 nephews. The couple moved from their home in Cleveland to Charlotte, NC 2008 where he found work in accounting, outside sales, and customer service before he enrolled in Belmont Abbey College's adult degree program in 2014. He earned his bachelor's degree in history in 2016.
After two school years as a substitute, he returned to Belmont Abbey College to take the education courses he needed for his teaching license in North Carolina.
Mr. Urig is a sports fan, enjoys playing golf, and attending after school activities. He is looking forward to growing in both his profession and in his faith during his time at Trinity High School.

Fourteen Trinity students completed immersive summer internships at The Cleveland Clinic with graduation yesterday.
They were chosen from over 1,000 applicants to work full-time on real world projects in areas such as surgery, dialysis, architecture, and sterile processing.
Each participant presented their projects at a reception at The Rooftop Terrace of The Cleveland Clinic yesterday. They shared their work with pride and spoke of being excited about what the future holds for each of them.

Trinity High School would like to welcome our new head basketball coach, Coach Frankie Hughes!
Frankie Hughes is a former Division I and professional basketball player, current Head Boys Basketball Coach at Trinity High School, and dedicated mentor committed to developing the next generation of student-athletes.
A Cleveland native, Hughes starred at Garfield Heights High School, where he became a 1,000-point scorer, led the Bulldogs to back-to-back Ohio Final Four appearances, and earned recognition as one of the Top 100 high school players in the nation.
He continued his career at the University of Missouri before transferring to Duquesne University, where he helped lead the Dukes to an Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship.
Following college, Hughes played professionally for Satria Muda in Indonesia before transitioning into coaching. His coaching philosophy is built on discipline, accountability, relationships, and relentless effort. He is passionate about helping players reach their full potential by developing not only their basketball skills but also the character, confidence, and leadership qualities that prepare them for success in life beyond the game.

Trinity would like to welcome our new Head Volleyball Coach Ms. Tierra Cargile!
Tierra started her volleyball coaching career in 2021. Tierra entered her 3rd year coaching at AVC in 2025. She has been playing volleyball since middle school.
In 2009, Tierra graduated from Maple Heights High School after playing 4 years of high school volleyball. In 2013, she graduated from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) with her bachelor’s degree.
In 2021, Tierra started coaching at Milkovich Middle School in Maple Heights. She spent one season as the 7th grade coach & since then, has been the head coach of the 8th grade team.
Tierra brings great experience to Trinity and is excited to share her knowledge and passion for the game with others.
At present, Tierra enjoys playing in adult volleyball leagues around the city & is currently employed as a Medical Coder and Biller at the Cleveland Clinic.
