It is with heavy hearts that we are sharing the news that Annette McDonald has passed away. Many of our long term dealers and customers will remember Joe and Annette, as our partners for many years. Please keep the McDonald family in your thoughts and prayers.

Frances Annette McDonald, 84, of Abilene, formerly of Conroe, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021.

Annette was born September 7, 1937 in Mount Pleasant, Texas to Travis and Joyce (Tyre) Bowers. She and her family moved to Lubbock and then eventually the family moved to Lamesa, Texas where she graduated high school.

She attended Abilene Christian College where she met her husband, Joe McDonald. They married on September 1, 1957, in Lamesa, Texas. She loved being a homemaker and was a wonderful wife, mom and granny.

She was currently a member at the Oldham Lane Church of Christ, but a long-time member at Longmire Road Church of Christ in Conroe, Texas.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Jimmie Marie Metts. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joe McDonald of Abilene; one daughter, Pam Mauldin and husband Darrell of Abilene, two sons, Tim McDonald and wife Tammy of Missouri City, and Jon McDonald and wife Julie, of Abilene; two sisters, Sarah Hancock and husband Harold, of Burnet, and Nancy Peterson and husband Eddie of Snyder; two sisters-in-law, Garnetta Stanyer of South Lake, and Lurany Jones of Conroe, one brother-in-law Tommy McDonald of Conroe, and seven grandchildren, Travis and Connor Mauldin; Casey Pollard, Katie Marchant and Callie Lucas, Dustin and Wyatt Wink, and six great-grandchildren.

An emergency overnight shelter will open at 4.30pm today (Monday) at Madeley Ranch Elementary School in Walden.

Because of the circumstances, services will be limited. Please bring:

Masks
Blankets
Food/drink (no cooling/heating for food will be available)
MEDICATION

A big shout out to Dr Heath Morrison who has compassionately waived the restrictions on bringing pets. If you do bring your pet, they must be leashed (or otherwise restrained) at all times and you are responsible for all aspects of their care and cleanup. Please bring bowls and food for your furry friends.

We are pleased to announce the flea market will be open as of 5/2/2020. We will be enforcing social distancing guidelines. We strongly suggest you wear a mask while visiting. Olde Security Square is sending our US Army soldiers from the 82nd care packages. They have requested protein rich food and coffee. They had no warning before they left so we are trying to set them up and keep them fed and full of coffee over these next 9 months. We will be taking donations in the cafe to be placed in boxes and shipped. Should you like to CONTRIBUTE towards shipping,that would be very appreciated. No amount to big or too small. This team is 53 men, 1 woman and the average age...mid 20's. We will have boxes placed for easy donations. THANK YOU.
