Local gardeners will be cleaning out their plots, putting their scraps in our trailer, and in turn, we will make compost out of it!!! We are so grateful and thankful for all who have supported us through our endeavors in saving our planet! We cannot wait to create the “black gold” to reduce our carbon footprint and grow the best produce for the community!

Lake Erie Harmful Algal Bloom-

https://www.cleveland.com/news/2021/05/2021-lake-erie-harmful-algal-bloom-prediction-smaller-but-more-severe.html

If farmers would replace fertilizer & pesticides with quality, nutrient rich compost, the yearly Algal Bloom could be eliminated.

The blue-green toxic algae is an annual problem in Lake Erie, from Toledo to the islands. The algae turns fresh water into pea soup, with thick mats of scum that can close beaches, wreck tourist fishing and contaminate drinking water, as it did in Toledo in 2014.

The size of the annual spread depends on how much rain falls on Northeast Indiana, Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio between March and July, how heavy the rain is and how much fertilizer and manure run off farms into the Maumee River, and then Lake Erie.
