With a winter storm expected in our area, now is a good time to take a few simple steps to protect your home, vehicles, and family.

• Check that your heating system is working properly and change filters if needed
• Insulate or drip exposed pipes and cover outdoor faucets to help prevent freezing
• Bring outdoor items inside and secure anything that could be affected by wind or ice
• Make sure you have emergency supplies on hand, including flashlights, batteries, and blankets
• If you’ll be traveling, keep your gas tank at least half full and have an emergency kit in your vehicle
