The casual warmth of this new kitchen makes you want to hang out around the table for hours. The custom plate rack and soapstone countertops were special requests from the owner, and found pieces like the pot rack and the antique table and chairs fill the space with her personal touch.

A carriage house was one of the final touches on the historic renovation of this 1876 home.
We love the versatility of a carriage house and have seen clients use them for an art studio, office space, or private guest suites.

Can you smell the cedar?
One of my favorite woods for a house is cedar. It is easy for carpenters to work with, and will last for years. In a world of plastic and composite materials, it is an honest material that will never lose its appeal. This garage is a sneak peek of this project which will wrap up this summer.

Permanent vacation vibes.
Just add water...
The pool and the rest of this project are moving along right in time for a hot summer.
More to come.

This Dutch Colonial, built around 1876, sits on historic Ocoee Street, originally the old stage route between Cleveland and Charleston, Tennessee.
We had the opportunity to work with two incredible clients, who saw its potential even through the years of neglect. The updated floor plan and reclaimed wrap around porch give this house a new light. The footprint was increased to include a new kitchen, living room, mudroom and master suite. One of our main goals was to peel back the layers to the original structure and to create a new addition which integrates seamlessly into the old architecture. Our new carriage house sits as a backdrop to the original form and takes its architectural cues from the Dutch Colonial roofline.
We had an old postcard which shows the original front gable detail which had been lost over the years.

I could post a thousand photos of this past year and all of the projects we have in different stages, but mostly I want to say THANK YOU to all of the wonderful clients that I've worked with this year. We have had an immense variety of beautiful projects in progress. We broke ground on some, completed a couple, and there are many yet still on the drawing boards.
I am grateful for each one of you, as well as the designers, contractors, and trades people with whom I am blessed to work.
