This is a pressure treated shake roof, with copper valleys , trim and drip edge, at Waterfall. A lot of hard work but turned out really nice!

Couple of projects from 2019

Looking back over the many years of roofing, the one that I'm most proud of is not a big lake house, done many of them, not a big highlands house, done many of them. But a simple house on Betty's creek, known as the Bleckley house. What makes it pretty unique to me is that my great great grandfather built this house, Albert Asbury Darnell. With over 200 years of family history in Rabun county to get a chance to roof something that your ancestors built is really cool...it's right on the side of High Darnell road above the baptizing hole.

Another professional job done!

Looking back over 2015, it was a busy year!..and a wet one..we did a lot of roofs, and countless roof repairs..the one thing that stood out, was how many repairs could have been avoided by simply doing it right the first time. Yes, it does cost more, but a cheap job will almost always cost the homeowner alot more. I'm constantly replacing roofs, shingles and metal, that were not installed right.

So I'm always getting asked which is better, shingles or metal? A lot of it has to do with what was the house built for. To change a roof from shingles to metal, can be very expensive, and metal roofs when installed right will always cost more than shingles. Installed right the first time is the key to getting the most life out of your roof, be it shingles or metal, which will save you money in the long run!..a big thank you to all the customers and to all that have referred work to me over the past year!

Thank you to Steve and Barbie White! The roof turned out really nice, color choice by Barbie was perfect. Certainteed pro shingles. Synthetic underlayment, always!! Membrane installed at chimney and on lower pitches of roof.

EVERYTHING HAND NAILED, always, to insure that they get the most life from the product. But also peace of mind knowing that they were installed correctly! Color is Georgetown grey.

This is a job we just finished. I found the history of the house interesting. It's Alton and Mary Story's house, been in their family ever since it was built, some 90 yrs ago, really cool!.. It's got character!..the metal roof needed some attention , so getting ready to coat was the real job, but turned out really good...and now ready to go another 90 yrs!

Over the past few days, I have had many referrals , and want to say to everyone , thank you. Over the years most of my work comes by referrals from past jobs, or ones who have heard about me. Thanks again. Also with all this rain , I have felt the need to be more proactive with this page as far as posting pics of jobs and basic roofing info, will be posting pics of my past jobs and ones that I'm working on now , in between the showers. Lol ...

Allen job...Betty's creek. Just a quick update, taking advantage of this rainy day...this is the Allen job up on Betty's creek...a small roof, but the setting and location give this home character. An older home, so there was a lot of wood that had to be replaced, facias, decking etc...the color is cobblestone grey, it goes well with the house..as always all the shingles were hand nailed to insure the best quality...with a membrane underneath..thank you to the Allen's for the work.

a big thank you for the comments, me and sharon started this page so as to reach new people, rabun county is growing and changing, and also to inform friends as to what i do, everybody knows i roof, lol, but there are many kinds of roofing, and i feel that i can contribute and help people make a wise choice as to what will give them the most bang for their buck, so to speak, lets face it, roofing is very expensive, y'all work hard for your money, all to often i hear misleading info and people get taken, i do feel like i do really good work, but I'm not alone, i have two really hard workers, adam hurst and shawn burrows, they bring to the table a hard work ethic and want to do a good job, knowing that my name is on the line, thats very rare, so thank you to them always.....as we start and finish jobs, i will post pics, showing the progress and process of roofing a house...until then...thank you
