🚨 WE NEED FOSTERS AND ADOPTERS. WE HAVE NO MORE SPACE. 🚨

Today was a hard day. 😢We were asked to help 5-6 different dogs today who were likely on their last day (or so to be). We had to say no. Not because we didn’t want to save them. We simply had nowhere to put them.

Red Barn Rescue is at capacity. We have wonderful dogs in our care right now who are waiting for foster or forever homes, and until we can get some of them into homes, our ability to answer the next urgent call is extremely limited.

These are the dogs at Red Barn Rescue who need you. Some have been with us for a while. Some are new and we're still getting to know them. There are different ages, sizes and personalities, so if you’re willing to open your home, please reach out and let us help find a good match for your household!

💭Remember: Fostering saves TWO lives! It gives one of our current dogs a home while they wait for adoption — and it opens a space so we can say YES to another dog who may have run out of time.

We want to keep pulling dogs from shelters. But we cannot do it without foster homes and adopters.

🐾 ADVENTURES WITH LUCY AND KODA!

Koda had another great adventure with volunteer Lucy recently — but what he really needs is a FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME! 🏡❤️ Koda left the barn for some fresh air and fun, and he proved once again what a wonderful adventure buddy he is.

- Calm and patient in the car — he’s happy looking out the window or just laying down and relaxing.
- A great walking companion — with the right guidance, he does a good job ignoring other dogs and continuing on his way.
- A total sweetheart with people — Koda greeted other park guests with head nudges and kisses!

And we already know Koda is just as wonderful inside the house. He is housetrained, and when temp fosters have taken him home during extreme weather, he has always been a stellar houseguest!

Koda is 4 years old and about 80 pounds. He does need to be the only pet in the home, and he would absolutely LOVE a fenced yard where he can stretch those legs, play and enjoy some outdoor time. He is a fetch master!

Koda has so much going for him. He can hop in the car and head out for an adventure with you, then come home and settle into house life like a pro. He just needs someone willing to give him that chance. ❤️

FOSTER NEEDED! Meet Kobe!🐾

Kobe is a handsome 1-year-old black Goldendoodle who needs a foster home in Johnston County NC (or surrounding area).

At about 50 pounds, Kobe is still very much a big, playful puppy at heart. He’s energetic, loves his toys, loves being outside, and is always ready to have some fun!

🐾 Friendly with other animals
🐾 Walks pretty well on leash — although excitement sometimes gets the best of him and he’ll pull a little!
🐾 Playful, energetic and friendly
🐾 Scheduled to be neutered Saturday

Gingerbread is an adorable 5-month-old puppy weighing about 20-25 pounds, and she’s every bit as sweet as her name suggests!

This friendly girl is affectionate, playful, and full of puppy energy. Gingerbread loves playing, exploring her surroundings, and meeting new friends. She’s always ready for an adventure, but she’s just as enthusiastic about soaking up attention and affection from her people. She loves cooling off in the kiddie pool!

Gingerbread is good with other dogs and would love a family that will include her in their activities while continuing to help her learn all the things a growing puppy needs to know. With her outgoing personality and love for both people and playtime, she has all the makings of a wonderful family companion.

💃😃FUN-SIZED MISTY IS READY FOR A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!💃😃

This fun, compact girl is house trained, dog friendly, people friendly, and eager to please. She’s smart and trainable and loves being part of whatever her people are doing!

Misty is an adorable 1 and half year old, 38-pound Staffy mix who really is the whole package — smart, affectionate, playful, and absolutely gorgeous! I mean, just look at that pretty brindle in her coat!

One of the best things about Misty is how well she matches the energy around her. If it’s time to relax, she knows how to settle in and chill. But if you’re ready to get out and do something, Misty is more than happy to join the adventure! Walks, outings, playtime, exploring someplace new — she’s ready to be your sidekick.

Misty is friendly and affectionate and loves being around people. We think she’ll be happiest in a home with adults or older children, around age 10 and up.

If you’re looking for a fun, smart, loving dog who can go from adventure buddy to couch companion, Misty just might be your girl!

Buddy’s foster snapped a few pictures while he was trying on his costume for Wag-o-Ween at Aviator Brewing on October 3, and we just had to share a sneak peek of all this cuteness! 😍

At 3 years old, Buddy is at such a wonderful age to adopt. He’s engaged, affectionate, and happy to join you for an adventure — but he’s left most of those puppy antics behind. He’s the kind of easygoing dog who can slip into a new family’s routine and make it feel like he’s been there all along. ❤️ He is housetrained, does well in his crate and walks wonderfully on leash.

Buddy enjoys the company of other dogs, loves going for strolls around the neighborhood, and is just an all-around pleasant guy to have by your side. He does need a cat-free home.
