I have some framed artwork that I'm selling for a friend who is moving to Europe. The first is a signed artist proof of Jefferson Davis, by Jerry McWilliams ($375); measures 32"x38". The second is #444/750 of JEB Stuart, by Michael Gnatek ($550); measures 32"x32". These are priced way below market value and are available for pick up here in Clayton, Georgia (no shipping due to the size). I will only hold with prepayment of the full asking price. Please contact me here or call during business hours with your credit card info: 706-499-0259. Thanks for looking!

An Update on the Flag Pole Project
The flag pole fund reached $8,000 this week. This amount has come from 5% of in-store sales, 2.5% of website sales, and generous donations from supporters (thank you!). The first three months of the year have always been tough, but I expect the growth of the fund to accelerate greatly as warmer spring weather arrives and with the approach of the summer vacation months. If you'd like to contribute directly, please visit this link: https://therebelshop.com/rebel-shop-mega-flagpole-project-p-2356.html
A related clarification: A certain self-proclaimed "Confederate defender" in Ohio has publicly accused the owner of The Rebel Shop of "being in it to make money." This same issue has come up several times over the last seven years so I thought I'd better address it. This is a business and one of the purposes of a business is to make money. The mortgage, utility bills, property taxes, etc. don't pay for themselves. On the personal side, living expenses don't pay for themselves either. I am not getting rich - I don't own a mansion and a yacht, but I do live in a nice little cabin in the woods and drive a decent 8-year-old Nissan truck. After paying the bills, all excess money goes right back into the business. The Rebel Shop is my job, but it is also my "monument." I have plans to turn these two acres into a small Confederate memorial park. After the big flagpole is installed, the next project will be the installation of a Stone Mountain billboard behind the three national flag display in the attached photo. I've also found a company (in China - sorry!) that makes replica statues, so eventually I'd like to place a replica of the Richmond Lee statue on the property. All these plans require that I continue to "make money." Enough said.

Plans are in the works to raise the largest Confederate battle flag in north Georgia at The Rebel Shop! A 20'x30' flag has already been purchased and is just waiting for an 80' pole. An estimated $30,000-$34,000 is needed for the project: $21,600 for the aluminum pole with an internal halyard, and between $6,000 and $10,000 for the installation (depending on how much rock is below the surface) - plus 8% State and County sales tax. The attached picture shows what the flagpole will look like once it's installed (for perspective, the poles currently flying the three national flags of the Confederacy are 25' in height).
The physical location of The Rebel Shop is on U.S. Highway 441 in Clayton, Georgia - next to Walmart, The Home Depot and Tractor Supply. This is an important route that leads into the scenic mountains of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. It is traveled by thousands of motorists each week and tens of thousands during the summer months. The flag will be clearly visible from about a mile away.
5% of all purchases in the store and 2.5% of purchases on the website (www.TheRebelShop.com) is being set aside for the purchase and installation of the flagpole and its subsequent maintenance, and the repair or replacement of the flag as needed. As of February 1, 2024 nearly $7,000 has been raised for this project. If you would like to donate additional funds, please follow this link: https://therebelshop.com/rebel-shop-mega-flagpole-project-p-2356.html Checks may also be mailed to: The Rebel Shop, P.O. Box 353, Clayton, Georgia 30525. Thank you for your support!

It's a sunny and slightly brisk fall morning in north Georgia. Just a reminder for folks shopping for Christmas gifts at www.therebelshop.com - The next 30 days are my busiest time of the year. Except for two half-days a week, this is a one-man show. Please consider placing your orders as early as possible, and also note the product descriptions. Some items are made-to-order and delivery times can a few weeks if I don't currently have your size, etc in stock. Other items are subject to selling out and I'll need about a week to restock. I purchase American-made products as much as possible in this PC culture we're living in, but I also get products from around the world. If that is a concern to you, feel free to send a private inquiry before purchasing. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Ronnie Van Zant's 1955 Chevy pickup after it was recently restored by Johnny. The last time JVZ saw his older brother alive back in October of 1977, RVZ was driving this truck. All the Van Zant men have driven it over the years, so the original steering wheel was left intact. https://www.hotcars.com/heres-what-johnny-van-zant-drives/
A year ago, the new location was still under construction (last photo below) with less than two weeks to vacate the old location. Stressful would be an understatement. But it all came to together as I envisioned. Stop by if you're ever in northeast Georgia: 1771 Hwy 441 S, Clayton 30525. Open every day except Sunday. Also online at www.TheRebelShop.com
Just an old photo of some Southern teenagers playing to a small audience of other teens back in 1969. I wonder if they ever became part of the "one percent" of young musicians who actually made it?
On 4 July 1776, thirteen States, each separately and for itself alone (not as a consolidated "nation"), dissolved their former allegiance to the British Crown. They later entered into political confederation with one another in 1781, each State expressly reserving to itself "its sovereignty, freedom, and independence.” This political association was made "more perfect" in 1788-89 with the ratification of the Constitution by each State, separately and for itself, and not by the American people as a whole. At no time did any of the compacting States voluntarily relinquish its sovereignty. The current "indivisible nation" reality did not emerge until 1865 when the so-called "heresy of State sovereignty" (actual Republican quote) was overthrown in Abraham Lincoln's war of aggression against the South.
Happy Secession Day!
