The fishing trip at Kent Hudson's pond had a great turnout, was enjoyed by all. Luncheon was a success as well.

This is Memorial Day, we like to thank all branches of service for their sacrifice. If it was not for them we would not have the freedom that we do. God Bless those soldiers that made the ultimate sacrifice and those that are still in harms way. God be with you.
To all those Vets who were planning to come to our 1st fishing and boat ride on April 15th, it has been cancelled. Hope to see you next month. May 21.
April 16, begins the first boat ride for 2014, hope that we have a great turn out. All veterans are welcome. Wheelchairs are welcome.

Fishing trip picnic...9 /18/2013

We served lunch to our Veterans after the fishing trip. We had 10 boats filled with veterans and volunteers. What a terrific turn out! Great food...great fun! Thanks to Sam, Tom, and all the other cooks!! Looking forward to another good turnout in October...last for this season!

Great turn out for the Veterans fishing trip sponsored by American Legion Post 45 and VFW. Legion Auxiluary ladies, unit 45, donated desserts for the picnic luncheon. They also greeted the veterans and helped the post with preparations.

The ALA Unit 45 will be sponsoring a Women to Women picnic for Veteran women from Danville, Durham, and Richmond on July 20th at the Cedar Grove Plantation. If you know a woman veteran, let her know and have her contact us. We would love to honor all women veterans in the area. We need a response by July 8th.
The American Legion Auxiliary salutes all of America's heroes, past and present.
We remember and honor those who died for our freedom as well as those who are currently serving. Wherever you are at 3pm on Memorial Day, pause for the National Moment of Remembrance. Let us also remember the many American Legion Family members whose lives were affected by recent natural disasters across the United States.
We were "born" November 8, 2010 and are few in number but HUGE in energy and enthusiasm!
