Lord,
Today I give thanks for the men and women beside me—
those who have worn the uniform,
answered the call,
borne the weight of service,
and returned carrying memories known only to those who have walked the same path.
I pray for every brother and sister who rides these roads.
For those still fighting battles no one can see,
grant them strength.
For those carrying loss,
grant them peace.
For those searching for purpose after service,
grant them direction.
For those who feel alone,
remind them that they are surrounded by family.
Bless the motorcycles beneath us,
the roads before us,
and the friendships that hold us together.
May every mile remind us that service does not end when the uniform comes off.
Help us to watch over one another.
To answer the call when a veteran is in need.
To offer a hand before someone asks.
To listen when someone needs to be heard.
And to remember that sometimes the greatest act of service is simply showing up.
We remember those who never made it home.
We honor those whose wounds remain unseen.
And we stand beside those who continue to fight long after the battlefield has faded from view.
Though we served in different branches,
different wars,
and different generations,
we are united by a bond that neither time nor distance can break.
As long as these engines turn and these hearts beat,
may no veteran ride alone.
May no brother or sister be forgotten.
And may we continue the mission—
one mile,
one act of kindness,
and one life at a time.
Amen.
A Thanksgiving prayer
Heavenly Father, on this Thanksgiving Day, we lift up all of our veterans and thank you for their selfless service to our nation. We pray for a special blessing on those who have served, who have faced hardships, and made sacrifices to protect our freedoms. We thank you for their courage, their dedication, and their willingness to serve, and we ask that you grant them peace and happiness.
We pray for those who bear visible and invisible wounds from their service, asking for your healing, comfort, and strength to be upon them. We also pray for the families of our veterans, who have also made sacrifices, and we ask that you bless them with grace and peace.
May our veterans feel our gratitude and honor today. May they know they are valued for their contributions and that their service has helped secure the freedoms we enjoy. Guide our leaders to make wise decisions regarding our military, always striving for peace while protecting our country.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Renewed Strength for Those Who Served - Isaiah 40:31
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Being in the military can be hard on both the body and the mind. Many veterans understand what it's like to feel exhausted and to persevere through difficulties that require more than they initially believed they could provide. The promise of renewal is contained in this verse. A reminder that people who put their hope in God are given strength. God lifts up those who trust in Him, giving them the strength to continue, just as an eagle soars high above.
I pray that this verse will encourage our brothers and sisters by reassuring them that the Lord can renew their strength.
