UPI stands in solidarity with the communities and loved ones of those recently killed by ICE agents, including Keith “Pooter” Porter and Renee Nicole Good. ICE continues to terrorize and harm communities from LA to Minneapolis, and across the country, with zero accountability.

As narratives unfold that seek to justify senseless acts of state-sanctioned violence, we should remember the words of UPI’s co-founder, Connie Rice: “The first of all civil rights is safety, because without safety, you don’t have any of the others, and the first of all freedoms is freedom from violence.”

Everybody deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood and live freely from violence.
