🌬During the market last week someone asked which soap types would help wake her up in the morning.
While I’m so in love with the spicy cozy scents of Fall, the brisk peppermint and eucalyptus will surely enliven you. Hoarfrost season is coming soon!

H̶O̶A̶R̶F̶R̶O̶S̶T̶ ❄️
During a clear, still winter night- water vapors settle plants and fences; accentuating their outlines in beautiful blue-grey crystals called Hoarfrost.

This soap is named for the crispness that expands your lungs and brightens your eyes in winter, evoked through infusing olive oil with the invigorating essences of dried eucalyptus leaves and dried peppermint grown in my garden.

This soap is great for: detoxifying with European green clay and exfoliating with loofa gourd fibers from my garden combined with minty menthol for a fresh, exhilarating feeling - like being the first to trek through new crunchy snow.

Actual Hoarfrost photo taken by @greenshocked Happy Birthday Kit! Thinking of you in Maine. 🖤✨🤘

Hail October! 🍁🕸💀🎃
Special sale on this Ritual Bathing Set all month long!

This month’s Ritual Bathing Set features Graverobber for both it’s spooky feelings and the recipe being an homage to our resilience and our herbal companions during times of major health crisis. It’s been a full cycle of Mars which began its influence at the beginning of March 2020. For this part of the world, the pandemic really kicked off in the United States at that time. Mars is transitioning out this month. What have we learned about ourselves, our values, and our community during this time?

NEW MOON Ritual Bathing Mineral Soak

The feelings of the New Moon this month in Libra season are of release and gratitude, refinement and harmony. This involves cutting or redefining unnecessary ties to ideas, people, or patterns that are draining you and patching the holes in your protective circle.

Cord-cutting is much like deadheading Calendula or Marigolds that are so special this time of year for the Dia de los Mu***os, more beautiful flowers will bloom on these plants when those spent flowers are removed.

I learned these things from my friend @eb_heartwork in last night’s New Moon Kundilini class. Please seek her out! She’s a wonderful guide.

GRAVEROBBER Soap

I have been making soap for many years, and one of my first recipes was inspired by the list of herbs used by a band of medieval graverobbers to keep them safe from contracting the Black Plague.

This soap “Graverobber” has been popular ever since because of it’s unique story and spicy warming fragrance from clove and cinnamon, and the freshness of lemon, rosemary, eucalyptus. It also contains anti-inflammatory turmeric and gluten free oats.

Happy Autumn 🍂 September brings the Autumn Equinox, the Full Harvest Moon, and the hawk migration.

This begins the season of reflection, processing, and digesting. Meals get richer, hardier and more root-based. Warming spices, crisp leaves, and cozy comfort. It’s the time for slowing down, celebrating, and taking stock of our lives.

There are many ways to celebrate the Autumn Equinox.

Hawks and raptors are daytime hunters, symbolic of taking a broad view by soaring above, yet striking their prey with precision. Take some time this autumn to visit the hawk watch at your local natural area and reflect on what hawks can share.

For your ritual bath this month, consider a visualization exercise where you free yourself from the things that have you feeling stuck and gain the perspective of the hawk. Journal your accomplishments and make a list of your negative thoughts and patterns. Forgive yourself as you burn this second list and let those things go.

This month’s ritual bathing set celebrates the Harvest Moon. A time of abundance. The New Moon Bath Soak will help with new beginnings and trusting your intuition.

Harvest Moon soap

Colored with a blaze of turmeric to represent the low and firey autumn moon, cradled in a landscape of nourishing and purifying clays with crushed walnut shells and ground nutmeg providing a gentle exfoliant throughout. The bars are fragranced with a blend of ceremonial herbs from ancient druid autumn holidays that includes bay, benzoin, bergamot, frankincense, myrrh, nutmeg, oakmoss, rosewood, and sage.

This soap is great for: Connecting with the lessons of autumn and harvest season, expressing gratitude for a good harvest and insight on experiences, and for letting go of what no longer serves you- like dropping leaves, let it cycle back into the earth to break down and support next year’s growth.

New Moon - Cleansing Ritual Bathing Mineral Soak with Moonstone Feldspar

A ritual bath before the new moon is a great way to set the stage for big changes, and bringing a Moonstone Feldspar meditation stone is a symbol of “new beginnings” promoting inner growth, stability, self-respect, and following intuition.

I’m loving how these special bundles of locally grown and harvested healing plants are coming together.

They’re so beautiful and fragrant. Once they dry they’ll be perfect for meditation, rituals, reflection, and intention setting. Working with plants and herbs in different ways has always been relaxing to me.

Adding plant medicine to your spiritual practice is a way of honoring and living deeper connected to nature.

Looking forward to sharing more about this at Saturday’s event at @sideshowgallerychicago

🌊The feeling of needing to be by the ocean is strong this month, being humbled by it’s vastness and power. Its soothing and relaxing sounds. July is also the month of summer thunderstorms bringing much needed rain to our gardens, and changing the pressure in the air for a huge relief. We’re in Cancer season, so its time for appreciating and exploring our watery depths - things below the surface. Take time to move into a peaceful lightness through a ritual bath to cleanse and clarify your intentions.

This month’s Ritual Bath Set features the cleansing New Moon Ritual Bathing Soak with Moonstone Feldspar for trusting your intuitions and the salty, detoxifying Permanent Waves soap inspired by the sea.

New Moon - Cleansing Ritual Bathing Mineral Soak with Moonstone Feldspar

Each month when the sky is dark, begins the new moon. It is a time of intention setting and growth, as the moon waxes until full. It is a good time to reset and envision what you intend to nourish for this month's cycle. A ritual bath before the new moon is a great way to set the stage, and bringing a Moonstone Feldspar meditation stone is a symbol of “new beginnings” promoting inner growth, stability, self-respect, and following intuition.

Herbs used in purifying rituals and grown in my garden include Anise Hyssop, Mint, and Rosemary, all blended with epsom salt, Dead Sea salt, sunflower lecithin, and moisturizing coconut oil.

Permanent Waves soap reflects the ocean in waves of spirulina algae swirled with sea salt and layers of ground gluten-free oatbran like grains of sand.

The fresh scent of an ocean breeze is evoked with orange, neroli flowers, rosemary, lavender and maychang.

This soap is great for: cleansing pores, reducing inflammation, balancing oils and disrupting bacteria that cause acne breakouts. It helps absorb toxins and promote healing.
