Enjoy this excerpt of our award winning dance "Trashed," performed as part of "Persistent Spring 2026." The work was created, in part, with support from the MacArthur Foundation, and in collaboration with amazing circus artist, Emma Serjeant. Thank you, dancers!

Meet our collaborators Unalaqliq Iñuutchak (Unalakleet Comes To Life)! They live, work, and dance in the Alaskan fishing village of Unalakleet. And they are incredible.

We are in the middle of our annual Spring Campaign, and this year, we have a special ask: "Unalakleet Comes To Life" needs support to teach their art form and collaborate with us in Nome. Specifically, they need airfare for 4 dancers (about $2500).

For this year's Spring Campaign, we're asking our supporters to donate an additional $25 to $100 to help the dancers from Unalakleet.

We are so grateful for you, and it would mean a lot to have your support!

We believe the world is a better place when more people are dancing and making dances. Which is why we created our Community Dancer Project, which offers low cost dance and dance making workshops for over 100 community dancers every season.

In July, we'll be in Nome, AK collaborating with "Unalakleet Comes to Life," an incredible indigenous dance group, to present two Community Dancer Projects. Unalakleet artists with be teaching their art form, creating new work, and performing with us.

If you believe that everyone should have access to dance and dance making, donate to our Spring Campaign today.

Next season will be incredible! It'll include our first tour to Alaska, two major premieres, Dance Residencies, and more. Right now, your support means more than ever. We're in the middle of our Spring Campaign, and we'd love for you to give today to support our 2026-27 Season. If you can, give a little extra to support airfare for our partners, "Unalakleet Comes to Life," an indigenous dance group from a fishing village near Nome.

Our First Draft project truly brings our mission to life! This year, First Draft 2026 showcased the incredible new work of 11 diverse Chicago-based dance artists. In 10 years, we’ve produced 51 new works by 34 artists—each one a woman, an artist of color, or both.

We believe every artist deserves a platform, and every audience deserves access to bold, new dances. If you’re inspired by our work, consider supporting our Spring Campaign. Your donation—big or small—helps us produce First Draft every year.
