Finally got around to thinking about 💭 and writing out 📝 my goals for 2022. While I normally opt for a ‘word’ to focus on, this year I chose a phrase that resonates rather well.

🌴BE A PALM TREE🌴
I chose this phrase for a few reasons.☝🏻 One because my bff came up with it [hi 👋🏻] but two, and the bigger reason, is that I want to better manage my stress ➕ the chaos this year will throw at me. 🤯
~~
Palm trees are deeply rooted to the ground and are the only tree that can withstand tumultuous weather. 🌪 But it’s branches sway around with the wind, 🍃 making it flexible when needed. And I think that just about sums it up!

I haven’t really said much during this year’s 💜 but I wanted to use today to share a few closing thoughts. 💭

IBD is sooo much more than a ‘poop’ disease. 💩 Yes, frequent and urgent bowel movements are part of the package, but it’s also:
💫 getting anxious about every stomach pain & cramp
💫 stressing about what you’re comfortable eating at a restaurant
💫 being in remission but using butt wipes like these to calm down some irritation
💫 mentally adjusting to this new sense of normal
💫 explaining your illness to your friends & loved ones, hoping they understand
💫 …and so much more!

Stuck my landing 🤸🏼♀️ and didn’t have to think twice about adjusting my leggings. 👖

Last week, as part of my Nashville adventure, I really wanted my friend to take my to her adult gymnastics class. It was ✌🏻 days before our race but I didn’t care bc I got to channel my inner 5-year old and had the best time! 🤣
~~
Not only did I practice handstands ➕ cartwheels ➕ kick overs, but I legitimately did not have to move around my outfit once! Thank you to for this workout set that fits like a glove. 🧤 I was able to mix & match my sizes when ordering too bc if you’re like me your top and bottom don’t fit the same. 👙

Now that’s a Music City Marathon Medal Monday. 🏅 Try saying that 5x fast. 🤣 This bad boy really was earned every step 👟 of the way! Nothing about Saturday’s race was easy, but then again nothing worth having comes easy either. 💯

Yesterday I went on a solo adventure and got to take advantage of one of the last beautiful chi days we’ll probably have this year. 🍁 I’ve spent the last few months doing some self discovery 💡 and have learned I’m not very good at doing things alone. I LOVE living alone 🏡 but when it comes to truly being alone, that’s not something I’m good at.

So, I decided to take myself on a little adventure 🗺 and soak up a beautiful fall day. 🍂 Sure I could’ve invited a friend to come with me, 👯♀️ but I wanted to use this time to just be with me, myself and I. And guess what? I was able to move at my own pace and take as many photos as I wanted 📸 with no one telling me to speed up or slow down.

I’m by no means ~comfortable~ being alone just yet, but this was a huge step for me. 👟 Don’t forget 👉🏻 life is worth celebrating the small stuff too!
