to a friend's Summertime Spritz Party!

It was a warm gorgeous Saturday night and the ultimate host friends had us over for a beautiful backyard soiree for absolutely no occasion. There is something extra amusing about adults getting together just because we all want to have fun.

Because the night was warm, I chose a wide knit vintage Missoni skirt, with an easy scuba tank. I accessorized with my Valentino flippies to navigate the yard with ease, my recent favorite handbag, and a new Hermes bracelet set. ☀️

This year, we are doing color and texture. A departure from the coastal grandmother, quiet luxury that has been everywhere the past few years.

I love something like this beauty to fit the bill for year-round wear. With Sandals or boots, top with a jacket, wear a shirt underneath, its suede soft and a gorgeous vibrant color. Perfect for a loud & luxe moment!

I wanted to take a minute for the boys at the MET gala. This year, I felt the fashion from so many of them that they need to be recognized.

In no particular order, here are my favorite Men at the MET:

As most of you know, our fashion-lovers Super Bowl, the MET gala, was last night. This year’s theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, was such a cool one - I was really excited to see the various interpretations of it.

As always, there were some showstoppers and some looks that were visually great but didn’t hit the mark of the culturally-relevant theme.

My top 9 best dressed (women) were:

1. Lala Anthony in Archival Off-White - the mixture of black & white, finely tailored + floofy tulle all in celebration of one of the best modern black designers is all on point for me.

2. Jodie Turner-Smith in Burberry - the rich color and texture elevated to the sky this ensemble with its perfect neckline and oversized hat.

3. Doja Cat in Marc Jacobs - the best of the “take a costume but make it fashion” crowd. I love the embellished shoulders, pinstripes mixed with cat print, all of it is over the top tailored perfection for this theme.

4. Jenna Ortega in Balmain - Old Hollywood glam but with measuring tape as a wink and nod to dandyism’s exceptional tailoring. Just glorious.

5. Rihanna in Marc Jacobs - the on-point but just a little extra of this ensemble, including the debut of a baby bump. She’s always a winner.

6. Adut Akech in Swarovski - I love the unexpected mixture here. The natural elements of the feathers, somewhat tribal feelings from the pattern and neck piece mixed with the crisp tailoring and glam of the crystals is such a lovely picture.

7. Lupita Nyong’o in Chanel - Traditional cut, perfect fit, unexpected color with the cape, the brooch, the necktie, and the hat. Pure wizardry.

8. Jennie Kim in Chanel - A very traditional suit look but make it Chanel with the (very popular) trouser + skirt combo and the extra touches. A fun look that I think perfectly celebrates Black fashion history.

9. Kendall Jenner in Torishéju - This gal loves an understated look. This is a perfect one for this theme: amazing tailoring that fits her like a glove from an Afro-British designer. Such a chic homage!

I recently celebrated a friend's new chapter at her house with so many great pals and woman who specialized in Good Vibes Only (ie. A sage specialist)

It was a unique party theme and I wanted to wear something feisty, festive, but casual. I landed with this S/S 2000 Comme des Garçons ruffled shrug. It's "new" and I'm pretty excited about it.

This amazing budding actress made her W***y Wonka & the Chocolate Factory debut in S/S 2008 Marc Jacobs.

I don't need them to be in style to LOVE them but all my polka dot enthusiasts will be happy to know that amongst other geometric patterns, ⚫️⚫️⚫️ polka dots ⚫️⚫️⚫️ were making a showing in the fashion week runways.

As a dot lover, I am obsessed with this gorgeous Eugene Alexander cocktail dress. The top of it is so unique and truly amazing. I could see this being a show stopper for a summer wedding, but could definitely pull off year-round appeal.

Eugene Alexander is a super visionary chic and often under appreciated couture designer. If you remember the infamous white dress with the oversized flower that Carrie Bradshaw wore, that was a Eugene Alexander piece.
