The last Spirit Airlines flight left Detroit at midnight… and just like that, everything changed.
If you have a ticket, don’t rush to the airport there’s no one there to help.
And for so many people, the questions are real right now…
What happens to the tickets they already paid for?
Will another airline step in and honor them?
But beyond the flights… think about the people.
Thousands of employees, families, and livelihoods impacted overnight.
Prayers up for anyone affected.
I hope no one is stranded, confused, or left without answers in this moment.

Today I received some heartbreaking news. As we grow older and wiser, it seems that whenever the phone rings unexpectedly, we pause for a moment and hope it isn’t carrying sorrow. Unfortunately, today it did.

Chris Base, also known as Chris Green, has passed away. Many of you may have seen the posts of love and condolences, but I truly wish more people had the chance to experience the man behind those messages—the personality, the energy, the presence, and the unforgettable voice of the Baritone Baron.

Radio was the bond that connected us. It was more than a profession,it was a shared language, a brotherhood and sisterhood of voices, personalities, and dreamers tied together by microphones and purpose. In this industry, many may not know every name, but trust me, we know each other. We hear of one another, root for one another, and understand the silent battles that come with trying to survive in the rugged world of broadcasting, entertainment, and media.

Chris never chased radio for fame or fortune. He did it because he loved it. He loved the connection, the communication, the chance to reach hearts and minds through the airwaves. For many of us, radio became the place where we could say what was too hard to say anywhere else. It became our voice when life tried to silence us.

Chris and I recently had the chance to spend time together, and sadly, it was at the funeral of another mutual friend. Life has a way of bringing us together in moments that remind us just how fragile and precious time truly is.

I don’t always understand this world or why life moves the way it does. We are born into it only to one day leave behind family, friendships, memories, and everything we gathered along the way. I often wonder what the purpose of it all is. But maybe life was never meant to be fully understood,maybe it was meant to be felt, experienced, and cherished while we have it.

Rest peacefully, Chris Base. Your work here is complete, your voice still echoes, and your spirit will not be forgotten. Until we meet again, my friend.

Some people leave this world quietly, but the love they gave and the lives they touched keep speaking long after they’re gone.

If anybody hears about me going to jail tonight. It is true because I'm about to murder this taco salad I just made. I've been looking forward to this all day. Hello Taco salad, don't be scared!!!

Man, what a blast from the past, this is a true Chicago original. I can’t even remember if it was early Saturday mornings on WGN-TV or on every day, but I do remember how bad I wanted to toss those balls into the buckets and win some toys.
