ATTN: neighbors and friends who need food assistance due to the uncertainty of SNAP benefits, check out Edgebrook Coffee Shop on Central Ave.

If you don't need food assistance at this time, consider supporting by purchasing a meal for a neighbor, knowing that excess funds will be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Thanks for caring for our community in this way, Edgebrook Coffee Shop. We see you, and we are grateful!

Dear ECS family,

We are committed to helping our friends and neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Food insecurity is often quiet and affects all kinds of families in all kinds of neighborhoods.

Given the ongoing uncertainty with SNAP benefits, we will serve an order of pancakes and bacon free of charge to anyone who presents a SNAP card and matching ID.

If you wish to help us in this endeavor, you can buy that meal for a neighbor in need for $5. We will donate any excess funds to the Greater Chicago Food Depository when SNAP benefits are restored.

Everyone needs help sometimes, and we are very grateful to be able to offer some to our neighbors. We look forward to seeing you all very soon!

We're really excited to introduce some new opportunities to build community this fall! Starting next week, two small groups have opened up for anyone to participate. Both groups will engage in the same study, a book entitled "Breaking the Huddle: How Your Community Can Grow Its Witness" by Don Everts, Doug Schaupp, and Val Gordon.

Want to participate, but don't feel like you can commit to doing weekly reading? Have no fear! This study also comes with 5-minute videos that go along with each of the main themes of the book. You can watch the videos and still show up ready to listen and engage in conversation.

Questions? Reach out to [email protected] to be put in touch with one of our small group coordinators.

After a month of joining our neighbors for worship at Edgebrook Lutheran Church, it was a joy to be together again in our building this past Sunday! For the next few weeks, you can meet with us in the Chapel as we await the completion of a few more steps in our sanctuary renovation. It's looking really good, but we're not there yet! Swipe to see some images of the progress thus far.
