It is with tremendous disappointment that we share the difficult decision to officially cancel Run2Revive’s 2026 Grand Canyon events.

Following the devastating flash flooding in Bright Angel Canyon, we have remained in close contact with the National Park Service and the Grand Canyon Backcountry Office while holding onto every possibility of bringing this year’s group together safely.

Unfortunately, significant challenges remain, including limited water availability, continued closures throughout the inner canyon trail system, and uncertainty surrounding overnight accommodations at South Rim Village. These conditions do not allow us to move forward safely and responsibly.

We know how much time, training, fundraising, and heart our participants have poured into this journey. We share your disappointment, and we are deeply grateful for your patience and understanding as we worked through this incredibly difficult decision.

All 2026 participants should check their email for additional information, including available deferral options for the 2027 Run2Revive events.

Although we will not gather at the Grand Canyon this year, the mission of Run2Revive continues. The lives we support, the community we have built, and the purpose behind every mile remain as important as ever.

Thank you for standing with Run2Revive.

**RUN2REVIVE GRAND CANYON UPDATE**

After closely monitoring the impact of the recent flash flooding in the Grand Canyon, we now know that **Rim2Rim will not be possible this year due to the flood damage and resulting trail closures.**

While this isn’t the news we hoped to share, we’re not giving up.

Our team is continuing to monitor conditions and explore whether **Rim2River2Rim** can safely happen using the trails that remain accessible.

💧 **Water supply will be the deciding factor.**

We will make our **final decision on Rim2River2Rim by Thursday, September 10.**

Our priority has always been, and will always be, the safety of our runners, volunteers, and everyone supporting Run2Revive. We’ll continue to keep you updated as we learn more.

Thank you for your patience, support, and belief in what we’re doing.

**Grand Canyon Flooding Update**

Run2Revive has been working closely with the National Park Service to understand how the recent flooding and resulting damage may affect our 2026 events.

The National Park Service is still actively assessing trail conditions and the full extent of the damage. While we do not yet have all the answers, we will continue communicating directly with park officials and sharing verified updates as they become available.

We strongly encourage all **2026 participants** to attend our monthly call tomorrow—**Thursday, September 3, at 8:00 PM ET / 7:00 PM CT**. We’ll discuss what we currently know, answer questions where possible, and explain what participants should expect moving forward.

Please check your email and participant communications for the call details. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this developing situation together.

RUN2REVIVE GRAND CANYON UPDATE
The Grand Canyon experienced a significant flash flood on August 29, causing extensive damage throughout Bright Angel Canyon and the Phantom Ranch area.

The images and reports coming out of the canyon are heartbreaking. Nearly all of the footbridges spanning Bright Angel Creek were destroyed, and the North Kaibab Trail, Phantom Ranch, Bright Angel Campground, Black Bridge and Silver Bridge are currently closed. The National Park Service has not yet provided an estimated reopening date.
We know many of you are wondering what this means for Run2Revive and our upcoming Grand Canyon adventure.

Right now, we are monitoring the situation closely and taking our cues from the National Park Service. Our priority will always be the safety of our runners, volunteers and everyone who makes this event possible.
We are not giving up. ❤️

We will share updates as soon as we have reliable information from the Park Service about trail conditions, access and what may be possible.

Thank you for your patience, your support and, most importantly,
your understanding that some things are simply out of our control.

Stay tuned. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way.

Run2Revive Community Update
We are closely monitoring the situation surrounding the flash flooding and the impact it is having on our community and the Grand Canyon region.
The safety of our runners, volunteers, supporters, and everyone impacted by the flooding is our highest priority. We are in communication with the appropriate parties and are continuing to assess conditions as more information becomes available.
We know many of you have questions about what this means for Run2Revive. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as soon as we have confirmed information to share.
For now, please keep those affected by the flooding in your thoughts and, most importantly, stay safe.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of Run2Revive.

**Meet the Board: Lindsay Mundy**

We’re so excited to introduce Lindsay Mundy (right), who is officially joining the Run2Revive board for her first year!

Lindsay’s journey into endurance sports is pretty perfect: she went to a free lunch hosted by the local marathon, and her coworker happened to “gift” her a marathon entry they had won. 😂 One free lunch later… and Lindsay was officially an endurance athlete!

When she’s out on the trail, you’ll most likely find her fueled by Kirkland Signature Trail Mix 🥜, no better snack than when you are on the trails!

By day, Lindsay is a pharmacist, but we think one of the coolest things about her is the way she experiences the outdoors. Her favorite Grand Canyon memory is being right in the middle of the canyon, looking around and feeling like she had been transported to another planet.

And honestly, that feeling is a huge part of what makes Run2Revive so special, getting out of our everyday lives, challenging ourselves, and experiencing something that changes the way we see the world.

**Meet the Board: Jason Kopin!**

Jason has been part of the Run2Revive board since 2022, bringing his experience as a Portfolio Manager—and a strong belief that Strawberry Frosted Pop-Tarts are the obvious choice for trail fuel. Honestly, no argument here.

His endurance journey began at the 2019 Sydney Half Marathon, which he completed in a pair of then-trendy Nike Frees. Stylish? Absolutely. Proper distance-running shoes? We’ll let Jason answer that one.

His most unforgettable Grand Canyon memory came during his participant year, when he filmed portions of a *Survivor* audition tape throughout the crossing. The footage allegedly exists—but Jason has never watched it and insists he will **not** be sharing it with the class.

Jason, consider this our official petition to release the tapes. 🌄🎥

🏃‍♂️ **Meet the Board: Tom Daniel**

Tom is a Run2Revive founding member who found his place in endurance sports for one simple reason: he’s not built for speed—but he *is* built for starting weekends before sunrise and finishing them with a serious struggle to use the stairs. 😂

When he isn’t logging miles, Tom serves as the Camp Director at Camp Winaukee for Boys, where his energy, leadership, and love of adventure are put to good use.

🥨 **Favorite trail snack:** Peanut butter pretzels
🔔 **Favorite Grand Canyon memory:** Hearing the sweet sound of cowbells from the trailhead summit during his first Rim-to-Rim crossing—a sound that meant the climbing was finally over!

Tom brings humor, heart, and a willingness to embrace the hard miles to everything he does—and we’re proud to have him helping lead Run2Revive from the very beginning.

**MEET THE BOARD: ROB BURNS**

Rob isn’t just a Run2Revive founding member, he’s proof that one unexpected opportunity can change your entire path.

His endurance journey began when he won a Nike trip to Hawaii to run the Honolulu Marathon. Because apparently the most relaxing way to enjoy Hawaii is by running 26.2 miles through it! 🌺

When he isn’t chasing finish lines, Rob works for a private-equity-backed software company. And when the miles get tough? His secret weapon is a stash of sour gummies saved specifically for the final mile.

His favorite Grand Canyon memory perfectly captures the endurance experience: reaching the top of the North Rim, celebrating the climb…and then realizing the lodge was still another mile away. 🤣

As a founding member, Rob has helped shape Run2Revive from the very beginning—bringing his adventurous spirit, determination, and willingness to keep moving forward, even when someone forgot to mention there was still another mile to go.
