Pat has joined up with yet another band and their debut single, "Dia de Los Mu***os", was recently released. This time, Pat has joined forces with members of South Side hardcore titans, Through N Through, in order to write and perform a blend of heavy metal and thrash metal under the moniker, Garza.

WE HAVE A NEW GUITARIST

After a long, arduous, difficult search, we can happily announce that we have found a new guitar player. Turns out he was right under our nose this whole time.

Please welcome to the fold, Dan Ozcanli! A long time friend of the band, he brings with him a decade + of songwriting, recording, and touring experience and we couldn't be happier to have him aboard. He will help us write and develop the new direction that we're undertaking and we couldn't be more excited to work together. Don't sleep on his other bands, Nucleus and Aetos, either.

Nice to be back. Rehearsals with the new lineup will begin asap. New material will soon be in the works, but we'll share more about that when the time comes.

A small update here about the status of the band.

The hunt for our next guitarist has been difficult and frustrating, to say the least. We have so far been unable to find someone who is capable and willing to help us take the band to the next level. Despite the frustration and difficulty, the hunt will continue for as long as it takes. Please rest assured that we are not going anywhere and we'll get back to business as usual as soon as we're able to do so.

For all intents and purposes, the band is now on hold while we continue the pursuit of finding our next guitarist. We will not be playing shows or issuing any new material for the foreseeable future.

If anyone knows someone in the Chicagoland area who plays guitar and is about the style we are playing and writing, please reach out via private message or at [email protected]. As soon as we find someone, you will know. Please be patient with us and thank you for all the love and support so far.

We are seeking an interested individual that meets the following criteria:

- You want to write and play dynamic, downtempo, heavy, hateful, punishing music. Emphasis heavily on the doom metal side, but death metal chops and songwriting ability a must.

- You possess your own, professional gear and you know how to play it.

- You possess, or have access to, a reliable mode of transportation.

- You are able and willing to practice at least once a week (Currently we meet on Saturday nights).

- You want to join and collaborate in a full-time, established band and everything that that entails.

- You want to play shows around Chicagoland, the United States, and abroad.

- You want to tour occasionally, play big fests, and play of-quality shows. Touring experience highly preferred, but not required.

- You want to record and are willing and able to do so. Studio experience also highly preferred, but not required.

- You hold down a job, or have a source of income.

- You are not a piece of s**t, you get on with a variety of different people equally, and you're fun to be around.

Our influences are as follows:

Cianide (HUGE Influence), Saint Vitus (HUGE Influence), The Obsessed, Jungle Rot (Early material). Rippikoulu, Candlemass (Längquist / Marcolin eras), Evoken, Purtenance (Early material only), Winter, Triptykon, Anatomia, Coffins (Early material), etc

Imagine if the death metal bands listed above played in a doom metal style, and vice versa. Again, specifically Cianide and Saint Vitus. Heavy emphasis on the doom metal side of songwriting, but this is generally what we're trying to achieve musically.

About Voimaton:

Long story short, Voimaton has been together for 6+ years. The band was formed in 2018. We're a three-piece band and we aim to keep it that way. The current members of Voimaton were previously in Narcotic together and this band began when Narcotic split up. Since our formation, we've signed to a label, released a full-length album, been featured on prominent metal websites, and played some fairly big shows with top acts. Our core influences and inspiration for the band are Cianide and Saint Vitus. We have a practice room at Superior St. in the city of Chicago. Once we fill the guitarist role, we hope to get to work on writing a second album, playing more of-quality shows, and eventually tour every now and then.
