This is the detail everyone is asking for right now.
Not tile.
Not trim.
Stone door frames.

Once you see it, regular casing feels… unfinished.

There’s something about walking through solid marble that changes the entire room. It feels permanent. Architectural.
Like it was carved out instead of installed.
And here’s the part people don’t realize,
every corner is mitered.
Every vein has to wrap the opening.
If it’s off by even a little, your eye catches it immediately.
Done right, it reads like one massive block of stone.

Would you do this in your own home
or is it too bold?

Not exactly spa vibes yet… 😉
But this is actually when the important work happens. We’re checking elevations, shimming the returns, and making sure the jambs, bench, and window all agree with each other before it gets locked in forever.
Stone is not forgiving.
If we miss it by even a little, you’ll see it every single day.
So we slow it down now so you never have to notice it later.
Soon you’ll only see a calm, bright shower.

We’ll still see all the hours hiding behind it 😉

When the fireplace looks simple… that’s usually when the work was hardest.
This is natural marble, so every vein has a direction and a personality.
The goal wasn’t just to cover the wall, it was to make the stone feel like it grew there. The header, legs, and returns were all laid out off-site so the veining flows through the opening instead of breaking at the corners.
We mitered the edges to give it thickness without bulky build-ups, kept the reveals tight to the drywall, and set the hearth perfectly level to the firebox so nothing looks forced or “stacked.”

Most people will just say, “nice fireplace.”
Fabricators see the seam alignment, the inside cuts, and how the pattern wraps the opening… and that’s the part we’re proud of.
Stone isn’t installed.
It’s composed.
