Balanced Veterans Network
Wellness-focused lifestyle brand and 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting veterans and families through holistic wellness, education, and community.
BALANCE IS BUILT, NOT FOUND. Veterans helping veterans since 2018. www.balancedveterans.org
One of the things Xavi found through Balanced Veterans Network wasn’t a program or a treatment. It was people.
People who understood the challenges of life after service. People who had faced their own struggles, setbacks, and transitions. People who were actively working to build healthy, meaningful lives and move forward.
That’s what community can do. It reminds us that we’re not alone in what we’re carrying.
At Balanced Veterans Network, we bring veterans together around growth, connection, and shared experience. We create spaces where people can learn from one another, support one another, and see what’s possible when others are doing the work to overcome obstacles and build a life they’re proud of.
Sometimes healing starts with a conversation. Sometimes it starts by finding people who simply get it.
For Xavi, that sense of belonging made all the difference.
Balance is built, not found.
We had 53 people donate $2,630 to our Morgan Wallen pit ticket giveaway. Once again a sincere thank you to Jen and the team at Stoner Magazine and Savvy Custom Tees LLC for their generous donation of the tickets.
Congratulations to Erik Whitman!
Thank you to everyone who entered 🙏
It's a bit of a bummer to make this video but this fundraiser has not gone the way we expected.
Pit tickets to two of the top names in country, we thought easily it would bring in thousands of entries.
Unfortunately, due to advertising restrictions, website limitations, and some unexpected technical hurdles, we weren’t able to get this fundraiser in front of the masses the way we’ve been able to with campaigns in the past.
But that creates a unique opportunity.
In less than 48 hours, one person is going to win 3 Morgan Wallen and Ella Langley PIT tickets for Soldier Field in Chicago on June 20, including Ella Langley. A prize package worth more than $3,500.
And right now, the odds are still far better than they should be for a giveaway like this.
Every $25 donation earns an entry and helps us continue building programs, resources, and community for veterans and their families through Balanced Veterans Network.
We’re not a massive organization with a huge marketing budget. We’re a veteran-led nonprofit doing our best to create real impact, and every donation helps us continue that mission.
If you’ve been thinking about entering, now is the time.
If you can’t enter, we’d be incredibly grateful if you’d share this post. A single share could help us reach someone who would love this opportunity while also supporting veterans.
Winner announced June 11, 2026.

“I spent years trying to survive. Eventually, I needed to learn to live.”
— Xavi Vasquez
A lot of us wake up every day carrying old wounds, old stories, old excuses, and old fears. We tell ourselves we’re doing our best just to get through another day.
But eventually, there comes a moment when survival isn’t enough.
A moment when you have to decide whether you’re going to stay trapped by your past or start building a future.
Xavi’s journey wasn’t easy. Injury, isolation, pain, setbacks. Years of fighting battles most people never saw.
But this story isn’t about what happened to him.
It’s about what happened when he stopped letting those things define him.
No one is coming to save you. There is no magical breakthrough waiting around the corner.
The first step toward a better life is taking ownership of the one you have right now.
What’s one thing you’ve been blaming, avoiding, or allowing to keep you stuck?
Maybe it’s time to stop surviving and build a life worth living.

For a long time, Xavi didn’t think he was strong enough.
After a devastating injury, years of pain, emergency surgery, and learning how to walk again, it would have been easy to believe his best days were behind him.
Many veterans know that feeling.
The feeling that you’re falling behind. The feeling that you’re broken. The feeling that everyone else seems to have it figured out while you’re just trying to make it through the day.
The truth is there should be no shame in that struggle.
Every one of us faces challenges. Every one of us has moments where we question ourselves, our worth, or our ability to move forward.
What matters is what comes next.
Xavi’s story is a powerful reminder that an injury, setback, diagnosis, or difficult chapter doesn’t have to define the rest of your life. Recovery isn’t always linear. Growth isn’t always easy. But transformation is possible.
At Balanced Veterans Network, we believe some of the most powerful healing happens when veterans share their stories openly and honestly. When one person has the courage to speak up, it gives others permission to do the same.
If you’ve ever doubted yourself, questioned your path, or wondered if things could get better, you’re not alone.
We see you.
And if Xavi’s journey proves anything, it’s that overcoming adversity isn’t about being fearless. It’s about continuing to move forward, one step at a time.
You survived.
Now build a life you’re proud of.

Growth doesn’t happen by accident.
It’s too easy to drift into familiar patterns. Real transformation takes intention. It requires us to look honestly at ourselves, question our assumptions, stay open to new perspectives, and be willing to try something different.
For many veterans, that work can feel especially challenging. The habits, beliefs, and survival skills that helped us navigate military service can be incredibly valuable. But sometimes those same patterns can make it harder to reconnect with ourselves, build meaningful relationships, or create the life we want after service.
That’s one of the reasons Balanced Veterans Network exists.
We believe growth is possible for every veteran, but it rarely happens on its own. It happens when we become curious about ourselves. It happens when we take ownership of our health, our mindset, our relationships, and our future. It happens when we stop waiting for life to change and start actively participating in the process.
That path looks different for everyone. For some it’s movement and fitness. For others it’s mindfulness, peer support, plant medicine, purpose-driven work, faith, community, or simply having an honest conversation they’ve been avoiding for years.
There is no single path to balance.
What matters is the willingness to keep showing up.
You survived.
Now build a life you’re proud to live.

🤔👀
Cannabis companies have been accused of not properly warning users of health issues related to their products, a new federal class-action lawsuit states. https://fox5sandiego.com/news/cannabis-companies-hid-health-issues-from-consumers-federal-lawsuit/
Xavi Vasquez relearned how to walk after emergency spine surgery. Now he lifts.
That’s not a small thing. That’s years of work, pain, setbacks, and a decision made over and over again to keep showing up anyway. For Xavi, the gym isn’t just about fitness. It’s where he found himself again.
Movement has been one of the most powerful tools in his recovery. Not because it fixed everything, but because it gave him something to build on. A little more strength. A little more clarity. A little more control over a body that once felt like it had betrayed him.
If you’re a veteran sitting on the edge of starting, this is for you. You don’t need a perfect program. You don’t need to be pain-free. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to move. Start there.
Healing looks different for everyone, but it almost always involves getting up and doing something with the body you’re in right now.
Watch Xavi’s full story at the link in our bio and let it remind you what’s possible.
