Stop by for another fun night of the North Center concert series Wednesday night. The band is the black oil Brothers. They played last year and were a lot of fun. It’s at the N. Center town Square at 4100 N. Damon at 7 PM and usually runs till about 8:30.
The concert series will still take place next week, but unfortunately I will not be there as I will be in Alaska on a cruise helping to celebrate my mother‘s 98th birthday with my brothers.
Here’s a picture from the wild mile Block party last Sunday. What was a fun time we all had.

I almost forgot to post that I will be at D’Agostino’s Wrigley tonight from 5:45 to 7:45. I will be gone the next two Tuesdays so stop by and say hi while you’re waiting to get a balloon. Here’s a happy person from Sunday at the wild Mile Block party who wanted a dragonfly. We see lots of dragonflies along the river.

Tomorrow (Sunday the 19th) is the 5th annual Wild Mile Block Party. It’s not to be missed. Last year we had 1000 people in attendance. It’s free. There will be food trucks. I will be making balloons. This is where I volunteer every Tuesday morning and this is my seventh year of going out in the kayak as a river Ranger pulling garbage out out of the river. We may have a record last week because three of us pulled out 385 pounds. 2 wooden pallets which added to the weight.
The dock is behind REI on Eastman Street and goes down as far as Whole Foods on Kingsbury.
Come see what it’s all about. It will be easy to find me under my bright umbrella. Walk along the river and see the first eco- floating garden in the world.
It runs from 3 to 8 PM and I will be there until the kids dwindle, which is usually around 7:30.
For the bear drinkers, yes, you can buy beer and soft drinks. There are some other cool Urban Rivers things they are selling as well.

It’s the 5th annual Wild Mile Block Party this Sunday from 3-8. Only 4 more days. This is where I have volunteered for 7 years cleaning garbage out of the river. By the way, yesterday 3 of us pulled out 385 lbs of garbage. Yes, we weigh and lot our hauls.
The block party is wild, and on the Wild Mile. It’s free and it’s great to see the best kept hidden secret in Chicago. It’s quiet (well, not at the block party) and you can walk, sit and eat lunch and see lots of wildlife right off the dock. It’s between REI and Whole Foods on Kingsbury.
I’ll be there making balloons from 3-7 and longer if there are still kids wanting them. It will be easy to find me. See the colorful umbrella and the line of happy kids waiting for a balloon creation from me.
I hope to see a lot of you there. There are food truck and beer for sale. It’s going to be hot, so a cold beverage will be great.

The north center concert series is in full swing. This is week 2 so I hope we get a much bigger crowd than what we had last week. Everyone there certainly enjoyed it. I got to see my friend Ana. She’s one of my favorites there. The concert runs from 7 to 8:30 PM and I usually get there a little bit early. Chamber of Commerce

Remember that tomorrow (Wednesday) is the 1st of 6 of the Northcenter Concert series. Polkaholics have a great following and really fun to listen to. Bring your chair, blanket and kids to get a balloon. I work for tips so bring cash, or I take Venmo or Zelle.
I always look forward to seeing my regulars year after year.
