SHALVA is sensitive to the unique religious and cultural issues many Jewish families face, but we can’t be everywhere at once.

To maximize the number of survivors receiving the care they need, we partner with law enforcement and civic organizations in the Chicagoland area.

Training for local professionals empowers them to identify and respond to DV – specifically around the intersection of domestic abuse and the Jewish community.

If you are interested in bringing a training to your group or organization, please let us know!

We had a fabulous time at National Night Out yesterday in Skokie, Rogers Park, and Evanston!

We love connecting with members of the community and spreading the word about what healthy love is, and why it matters.

Special thank you to everyone who stopped by, our staff, and our volunteers Shira and Alisa!

Tu B’Av, the 15th day of the month of Av (Hebrew calendar), was historically a matchmaking day.

Over time, it has evolved into a Jewish day of love.

Whether you’re single or in a relationship, there are some great Tu B’Av events happening this week.

If you are in a long-term relationship, we hope to see you on Sunday for our free Coupled Up workshop.

Join us for games, snacks, and new friends!

Today is Tisha B’Av, the saddest day on the Jewish calendar.

We are mourning, but we also have perspective – it’s possible to acknowledge our pain and know that brighter times are ahead.

If you are fasting, we hope you have a safe and easy fast 💜

“SHALVA is an invaluable resource for our community.

They’ve developed highly professional and highly effective programs to support and guide those facing domestic abuse.

Their outreach continues to grow profoundly to ensure the greater community is aware of SHALVA and the services they provide, as well as educate all on healthy relationships through all stages of life.” —Tami Drapkin
