Been waiting for my metroplex 2 amp. Eta was October. Just found out I will have it in a few weeks. Cant wait.

The biggest debate with Van Halens Kramer 5150 what body wood is it?

First was poplar now its basswood vs swamp ash

Someone who held the 5150 said it is light and basswood.

In my photos below is the red stripes with basswood. The blue stripes is swamp ash. Both 5150 bodies and maple necks.

Both exactly weight the same at 5.5lbs

So swamp ash weighs the same as basswood. Some woods do vary. The 5150 has some wood grain showing. Swamps ash has grain. Basswood does not.

My opinion is that its swamp ash.

Whats your opinion?

Bad ass builds

Another build. Bee body in ash. I will no longer paint evh striped guitars. That was his taste and trademark. Im not against anyone that does. I just want my own taste and style on my guitars.
