This really needs to be read.
One point he leaves out is the issue of tax rates. They are high because they are directly tied to the Berrios system of unfair assessments. If there is equity in assessments then the tax rates can come down because the levy will be satisfied by the revenues generated from previously under valued property.
Also, the large building owners that benefit from the “Chicago Way” and hire the Madigan’s and Burkes, love the smaller players carrying the misleading attacks on Kaegi forward. Better to have an angry mob do the work for them than bring attention to the game they are playing.
Lastly, it’s not that residential is getting a break here. Residential taxes are up too. My house was assessed at $175k for years. Now it’s assessed at $380. And so goes my tax bill.
It’s not residential v. commercial it’s big corporate v. small business.
Where else do we see that playing out in our economy? (Hint: everywhere)

Lawsuit Claiming Ald. Jim Gardiner Wrongfully Had Constituent Arrested Over Staffer's Lost Phone Moves Forward The suit from a former resident of Gardiner's ward alleges an officer told him: “I believe you. I wasn’t going to arrest you, but this person has power and I have bosses.”

This is still an issue despite science telling us Covid does not communicate via contact. Grocery stores will still not bag groceries in consumer provided bags. Experienced this last night at a local grocery store.

It’s been a good day! Congrats Senator Rob Martwick!
We won! After going to bed with a 27 vote lead on election night, the Vote-By-Mail returns have come in as expected. Our lead has grown to 5,354 votes and we expect that margin to grow as more ballots are counted. Today, my opponent called and conceded the race. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work on the critical issues that our state and community face. I am thrilled that I will have a talented and committed partner in those efforts with Rep. Lindsey LaPointe. I have so many people to thank. First and foremost, I am the worlds luckiest person, to be loved and supported by my wonderful wife, Sharon Martwick, my parents and my sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, some of which went above and beyond. I had a fantastic campaign staff, Tyler Dixon, Alexandra Sobor, John Riordan, and campaign mom Kerrie Avino. I am eternally grateful for the work of the 38th Ward and Norwood Park Township Democratic Organizations. Thank you Frank Avino, David M. Feller, Ed Bannon, Jacob Kaplan, Paul Alongi, Joe Alongi, Dan Pogorzelski, JC Strzalka-Steil, Kieran Fitzgerald, Susan Zimny, Stephanie Lieberman, Dawn Parent, Tasos Foukas, Tony Guida, Seamus Glynn, Ethan Brady, Craig Fallico, Jennifer Guerrero, William Collins, and Vittorio Verrechio. Thank you to our super crew of volunteers, Dorothy Frantz, Jen Jones, Judy Kehoe, Georgette Foss, Mary Claire Peceny, Yvonne Wesley, Ben Whipple, Danny Aviles, James O'Brien, Don Richie, Andrew Tonachel, Matthew Cox, Casey Smagala, Leanne, Gehrig, Quenton Galvin, Yolanda and Bob Simonsis, Paula Guilianao, Barb Bonnello, Michael Rabbit, Kelly Carroll, Emily Melbye, Jill Arena, Suzy Jackson, Catherine Colombo, Katie Smith, Kamil Mozwecz, Steve McKenzie, Mary Shapiro, Mark Dobrzycki, Robert Zwolinski, Scott Parent, Lynn Taormina, Annette Baase, Kathy Ryg, Ray Sanders, and all that helped in some small way. I promise I will always work hard and do my best to represent the 10th District. Time to celebrate!

Jill and I have shared many celebrations and game nights at our neighborhood restaurant Foundation Tavern & Grille. And though they’ve been open less than a year we have welcomed their excellent staff to our community. The loss of our new friend, the chef, Cory Neill, is a loss for all of us. With deep sympathy we send our condolences.
They will reopen this Wednesday. I hope you'll join us to show your support.
