The Diversity Committee promotes diversity & the practice ethical respect among all members of the ILASFAA Association & the population it serves.
Purpose: To promote the practice ethical respect among all members of the ILASFAA Association and the populations we serve. Diversity encompasses people of any age, cultural, economic or educational background, ethnicity, religion, gender, physical ability and sexuality. General Responsibilities:
1. Completes committee activities as directed by the President as prescribed by the Executive Board. T
his requires submitting information for the ILASFAA web site including committee meeting minutes, reports for Executive Board meetings and a year-end report;
2. Provides suggestions for diversity sessions and tracks at the ILASFAA Annual Conference;
3. Provides suggestions to incorporate diversity interest sessions in the Midterm Workshops;
4. Serves as the Association’s link to other programs involving diversity that may request information on financial aid programs available at the state and national level. This may require participating in local and national workshops and informational events;
5. Works closely with CAP Committee to help promote College Goal Sunday activities to minority and underserved populations;
6. Reviews position description at the end of the year and recommends any changes to the Past President for the annual update to the Policies and Procedures Manual;
7. Adds items of importance at year-end to the ILASFAA archives; and
8. Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the President or prescribed by the Executive Board.
