You can now view over 70,000 pages of Lexington’s earliest records, including slave history The Digital Access Project is a collaboration between the city and the University of Kentucky which took thousands of Lexington’s earliest records, including slave and land records, and made them available online.

Ahead of Juneteenth, congressional lawmakers again seek to remove exception for slavery from US Constitution | CNN Politics A group of Democratic lawmakers has reintroduced a joint resolution to negate a clause in the 13th Amendment of the Constitution that permits slavery or involuntary servitude “as a punishment for crime.”
Derrick Bell pointed out that the legal system in the US was shaped by pervasive oppression of enslaved Africans! "The Citing Slavery Project, a comprehensive online database (and map) of slave cases and the modern cases that cite them as precedent. "
